Yes really mate , the wife is quite happy with her new found foreign food so if we eat rice 2 or 3 times per week its the norm.Quote:

My wife too and she prepares it all the time. But that love stops short of skipping the rice to go with it.:)Quote:

Hi Natalie.
Yes, I forgot about that.
She put the kybosh on it in the end, she was worried she'd end up with something she doesn't like.
We actually found a little shop here that stocks a lot of those brands at a fraction of the price, though the ranges and sizes are limited.
I think they're factory over runs or stuff that fell off the back of a truck.
She ended up with a jacket, brand name Monsoon. I never heard of it but my English mates wife reckons it's a brand so what do I know.
The equivalent of GBP17.
Well done.Quote:

Why so many fish?
Will they be left there for 36 or 48 months?

No they will not smell if dried properly, but she wants to post some to mum in Pattani,as she is marooned at the moment because of flooding think they will stink when or if they get there.
Mum reported some big fish swimming past the house because of all the water, but she can't fish, the truth is she will not kill the fish.
Our weather is weird this November. It is supposed to be grey and dull with fog. However some places had more hours of sunshine this November than July, despite the days being only half as long now.
The plants are getting confused. I have taken a few photos this morning in my garden, all within a few minutes.
Some frost on the plants in the shadow

Endless blue across and above.
These are a couple of weeks old, but still nice. They are from my trip to Oman with a friend.
These are from Wadi Shab. I included the signs so you can see what / where Wadi Shab is. For the second sign, most people walk, but there are some who like to take the boat across. There are 1000 baiza in 1 Omani riyal.
I'll start a thread on this amazing trip only after Christmas. I still need to finish both of my last UK threads. :chitown:

Natalie
I will probably be back in dubai with the family in april.
A trip to Oman with friends is on the cards.
What was the waterfall like?
April is a great time to come here, weatherwise. I'll probably be in the UK then, but I can give you some tips for Oman. Just PM me close to the time and I'll give you great recommendations of where to go and what to see etc.
I didn't go to the waterfall, but my two friends did. I had a really bad headache at that point. :( They both said it was amazing. Our one friend who lives in Sur had been there before.
You have to swim to get to the waterfall which is in a cave. You have to squeeze your head through the small entrance or you can go in underwater.
Some people wrap their cameras really well to get photos or video of the waterfall. The whole area is amazing. This was my second time to Oman and to that very place.
Here's a pic of the cave entrance

and the waterfall

Love the colours of Thai fishing harbours. :)
My mother has a coastal property at home which she resides in during the summer, everytime she's out here she's in awe of them and commenting 'why can't people make that sort of effort back home'.
She's got a point, it does, literally, add colour to a dreary profession.
Even though the first sign says swimming is not allowed?Quote:
