His grave is unmarked. This is a scabby, cheap stone plaque that the local council deemed sufficient to honour his memory. It is situated near the main entrance to the cemetery and is set in a plot set aside for cremation memorials. His grave is situated in just about the only area of grass in the cemetery and is found by grid reference. No other gravestones within a hundred feet of him.

The picture above showing a policeman carrying a child dates from 1966. It was the Aberfan Disaster when 144 people died, 112 of them children. I had attended Pantglas school as a child, my father being the village policeman. The policeman in the picture is Vic Jones, he was the man who got me interested in angling with his stories of salmon poaching. He was great to me and the last time I spoke to him he had eaten a huge jar of pickled onions that my mother had made. He could not eat chips as he was diabetic and this was the eventual cause of his death. He was my father's best man.

No more lockdowns then?
Not for the time being, hoping it stays that way. If there is I'll probably get on a plane to either Turkey or Dubai and work from there remotely but with less restrictions.
Oh Panzer IV how I admire thee let me count the ways over a bottle of British Bulldog beer.
Is there no end to the reinventions of the Panzer IV that the barmy boxheads can come up with...
In another variation for the wehrmacht heer armoured division this is a Panzer IV/70(A) Self Propelled Anti-Tank Gun which has a much longer L/70 version of the regular 75mm L/40 armament

That beer brought back a few memories. In the mid 90's the oil industry was in severe decline, and I was going to be paid off. As part of my redundancy terms, the company I worked for would pay for any training plus expenses I wished to undertake. The prospects of getting a similar position in the oil industry looked slim, so my thoughts turned to buying a pub. I chose to do course with Moorlands Brewery in Abingdon, Oxfordshire (brewers of "Old Speckled Hen", and gain British Institute of Innkeeping creditation. First time that I'd been in Abingdon since doing my para course at RAF Abingdon in 1970.
It is wickedly good stuff.
That is not the Haka Hat.
