so why post it here - it may have escaped your notice , but the photos posted in this thread have been taken by the person - it is the point
    "Post a photo a week, of anything/anywhere "

Where does the heading say a requirement that pic must be taken by poster....really i don't have time for forum petulant crap...

Do a right click " Google search " on a sample 20 photos on this thread and surprise, surprise, you will find their correct source.

Well, it kind of says so in the first post:

I guess this thread was supposed to be a reflection of what the posters see on a daily basis . . . though there's no gripe with yours

Strokestown Park House is a Palladian villa in Strokestown, County Roscommon set on approx. 300 acres.

    History

The house was the family home of the Cromwellian "adventurer" family - the Pakenham Mahons - from the 1600s until 1979.

By the early eighteenth century, the estate comprised over 11,000 acres, scattered throughout north east Roscommon, put together from the later seventeenth century as a result of land acquisitions by Captain Nicholas Mahon around 1660. Later, his great-grandson, Maurice Mahon, purchased several additional lands, following elevation to the Peerage of Ireland as the first Baron Hartland in 1800.

Many evictions of poor tenant farmers occurred during the Great Famine. The Mahon family alone in 1847 evicted 3,000 people. After the killing of Major Denis Mahon in November 1847, as a direct reaction to of the large scale deaths of those sent on famine ships to Canada by the Strokestown Estate at the height of the Famine, his only daughter, Grace Catherine, vowed never to return to her ancestral seat. She was on honeymoon at the time, having been married only weeks earlier, to Henry Sandford Pakenham, son of Dean Henry Pakenham of Tullynally, and heir to the vast Pakenham and Sandford estates in counties Longford, Westmeath and Roscommon.

Grace Catherine never returned to Strokestown, but her marriage undoubtedly saved the estate from bankruptcy. On the eve of the Famine, the estate was in debt with over £30,000 having accrued as a result of family dispute over inheritance and expensive land purchases which had gathered from the second half of the eighteenth century. The marriage alliance (by which Henry Sandford Pakenham assumed the additional surname of Mahon), united the estates of both families to comprise over 26,000 acres, and the Strokestown estate remained one of the largest in Roscommon until his death in 1893. However despite the family fortunes improving Stokestown continued a policy of forced emigration to the United States and land clearances of tenant families. Today Strokestown estate is synonymous with with the Great Famine and includes the National Irish Famine Museum. The Famine Museum at Strokestown Park is twinned with , Grosse Ile, Quebec, Canada. Over 5,500 Irish people who emigrated during the famine of Ireland are buried in mass graves at Grosse Ile.
Since 1979, Strokestown Park has been owned by a Roscommon based company, the Westward Group which has restored the house and gardens using largely original furnishings. The 4-acre walled pleasure garden was officially opened in 1997 by the President of Ireland, Mary Robinson, having been faithfully restored to its original splendour with the assistance of an ERDF grant through the Great Gardens of Ireland Restoration Programme and a FAS scheme.

    Welcome to Strokestown Park

Provand’s Lordship, which was built in 1471 as part of a hospital in the cathedral precinct, is one of only four surviving medieval buildings in Glasgow. Beautifully preserved, the “auld hoose” is furnished with a fine selection of 17th-century Scottish furniture donated by Sir William Burrell, and a series of historic royal portraits. The room settings give a flavour of household interiors around 1500 and 1700, so you can immerse yourself in medieval Glasgow with a visit to this fascinating building.

Also, Kevin, the OP states 'taken in the last 7 days' but those photos are clearly dated May and September...

A river/flood diversion project that is intended to stop the once or twice a year floods in Chanthaburi's Chantaboon river district still allow the C River to far higher levels than I'd expected, appear to be 'on the limit' here, though an improvement on the years we've been here when October has seen the river expanding and flooding roads on the main city side over knee deep and about half that on the opposite cathedral side

I still use the nikon at the beach. the 30-110 is very good.

The dragonlfly was taken with my new OMD EM5 which comes with a 12-50mm kit lens with a very useful macro mode.

For general nature I use an old 1000D with 55-250IS
