Should TeakDoor Change its Online Sexual persona?

If you google Teak Door you can find a link to the forum but underneath you also have direct links to parts of the forum. e.g

Mark Forums Read
Pattaya live sex play video and ...
Pattaya GoGo Bars
Pattaya Mayor sees red after ...
The Thailand Forum
Sick, Horrible Austrian C*nt ...
Phuket
Jomtien to Pattaya Hotels ...

I don't want to bash the sex tourist types (after all DD is a proud one) but is linking the forum so prominently with go go bars and sex cams and worst of all Pattaya really such a good thing? I don’t have anything against any of the above, except perhaps Pattaya, but are we at risk of drawing the wrong crowd? Sex and Thailand are inextricably linked in the popular culture but the thought of attracting people looking to gimp of via the forum leaves me with a grim pallor.

I understand recently that some very unsavory types were seeking to groom and “network” on the forum. Perhaps if our links made a better first impression we might attract fewer gimps? Isn’t it features like the Travel Section’s photographs that keep the good folk coming back?

I don't think they were gimps, merely trolls. Gimps are hardly going to stick around to defend themselves once they realise what a mistake they've made. How could they be grooming? We're all well over the age of consent. Hypothesising, though; if those members were gimps, isn't it a good thing (in a way) that they came here, so they could learn first hand what the vast majority of adults think of their aberrent (and abhorrent) behaviour?

I like all types of stories on TD, it's just the fact that when you first log on your directed to 'home' well I am anyway..

Most of the stories there are generally some sensational nature...also very funny some of them..but to be fair there are other stories and questions asked..

I say leave TD the way it is..or try to change whats entered on the 'homepage' so if you want to find funny sick shit, it's maybe a tad harder...??? just a thought Mad Dog..

How on earth can a Pattaya-based website that caters to expats be sanitised to look anything other than what it is?

I think that, under the circumstances, TD does a pretty good job.

Nice post NR. I didn't mean for this thread to sound trollish I am actually a long term fan of TD (yes, I am sad and have been in Thailand for far too long) and don't think some of the links show the sites good sides Living in Thailand or Travellers Tales ...etc ... Perhaps if casual browsers were linked directly to the MKP sub-forum we would really get the respect and recognition we deserve.....

We can just add the word Broccoli into every thread and post on TD for a month and that should put TD in new places on the web.

For example, we could easily insert the word Broccoli into threads as you see below.
