Aussie ancestry!!! Should I be ashamed?

Just found out, not ten minutes ago, that my Great Grandfather was from Australia!

I'm absolutely shocked!!!!! How could my family have kept this a secret from me for so many years. I don't know what to do. Should I top myself? Start watching lame Aussie soaps? Throw on a canary yellow singlet and fire up the barbie?

    I need a drink.

Sorry to hear that planb, it must be quite horrific to find out about your relatives past, I think the first thing to do is check how much Aussie blood you have in you, probably the easiest way is to google up images of sheep and see how you feel about them, ie do you get an erection.

    ^ No not an abbo.

But he was a convict. Do I get extra points for that? I mean that's gotta negate some of the shame, right?

Congratulations mate and it must be such a relief!

I knew there was something that distanced you from other Kiwis that I have encountered before but could never put my finger on it.

I am sure your gunna break out the champagne. Its not often that a Kiwi gets a second chance at life. Maybe now you can apply for an Aussie Passport so today must be a wonderful day for you.

Champagne, is that the one with the XXXX on the can?

He was Tasmanian too. That's not really Aus, though is it? And he was originally from Gloustershire. So that makes him a Pom! Even worse I think, maybe I should go shoot myself.

Blue? I thought yellow was your national colour. Like what your national rugby team wears... green & canary yellow.

Most of us from the Southern Hemisphere have to carry the ancestral burden passed onto us by our mainly British/ European forefathers.

Mine is Pommy > Paddy so my burden has made my shoulders broad over the years but don't go telling anyone mate. Most people just think I am a chiseled pure blood Aussie crododile hunter!

After inventing civilization, us brits got a bit bored so we started a new experiment called Australia. Project India had worked out well but we needed better sportsmen and a good bbq. I think the whole thing turned out rather well except they still hold onto the fact that they beat us at football BLOODY ONCE, LIKE ANYBODY CARES!!!!!!!

As long as you havent got any French blood then consider your Aussie ancestry a failing rather than an outright failure.

I found out that my grand mother was a quarter French. By all rights I should have slashed my own thought there and then but imagine my joy when I found out that my grandfather had remarried after my father was born.

Your bloody right there as well and your lot went to war over a desolate rock of wasteland called the Falklands and didn't hang onto the best country in the world. That was your mistake and our gain.

Yep we are still weeding out the Royalist scum but hopefully the next generation will see sanity prevail and to cut all ties with the "Nothing Hemisphere".

Not a day too soon as well!

Can't understand why Aussie land doesn't have it's own royal family, Rolf Harris and Dame Edna Everidge would do fine for them
