Cliche' phrases you've heard once too often

    Something that speaks volumes.

On the ground, or worse yet, boots on the ground.

at this particular point in time -- I think they mean now.

On the subject of time: We'll be back in 30 minutes time -- Thanks for clearing that up, I thought you were talking about 30 minutes latitude.

Absolutely -- especially when the emphasized on third syllable with an excited, punch-in-the-mouth exaggeration: ab-so-LUTE-ly!

Along with absolutely comes clearly and obviously -- rarely are they clear, obvious or absolute (or rare).

Step it up and its orphan brother take it to the next level are mind-numbingly overused and just serve to piss me off.

Anybody that starts a sentence with the interjections, Look .... or Listen, needs to be on the lookout for a rear naked choke hold. For example:

"Listen, Hillary Clinton is the ... ARRRgh mugghhf umggffmp."

How ____ is that? is a disguised rhetorical attempt to involve the other listener when you clearly (or obviously) have no interest in shutting your pie hole and letting anyone else get a word in edgewise. For example.

"He nailed her in the elevator. How cool is that? I'm the domineering one so you just stand there looking stupid and listen to me blabber away."

He's twenty-six years of age -- could he be years of something else? You mean he's 26? Or maybe 26-years-old?

    OK ... done for now.

What trite nonsense do you continuously hear over and over, and wish people would just cut the bullshit and say what they mean?

IMO. Oft used here (by me too). Wonder who else's opinion it would be?

And the newest one. "messiah" is a bit over used.

"Sort of thing" and "ya know".

It turns my stomach when I watch an interview and the person being interviewed repeats ya know at the end of every sentence sort of thing!

"I'll tell you one thing" - and then another, and another......

    "Long time, no see"

"ATM machine" is another one I hate - what do you think the "M" stands for....?

Forum cliche I hate, "If you don't like it, don't read it". What kind of ferking idiot thinks anybody knows what a post says before they've read it? I'm talking to you Smeg, you prostate-tonguing fuktard.

Lets take a helicopter view of the situation.

First things first. (No, lets have them last for a change) Stolen from Peter Kay.

Yea, at the end of every bloody sentance.
