Your pets, yes you can include the dead ones.

Well here's me favourite, it's well dead and has been since I have owned it, it's a Pangolin ant eater, these are an endangered species and obviously they are nearly all dead, I can't remember how much the chinks pay per kilo for these but they are real easy to catch and club to death, they have a 2 foot long tongue and eat ants, when I first bought it there was something lost in the translation,I thought I was buying a stuffed monkey, at the time I was discussing about getting me old dog stuffed before he died as if he got too old he would get scruffy, I just hope he can't read this as he is sitting next to me now, anyway here's a pic of me dead anteater.

Hmmm, it would probably be a good idea to get the cat stuffed now while it looks so good, I personally would give the dog a few more years and then get him put down and stuffed, nothing worse that a tatty stuffed dog, and as they get older they get tattier, no one wants a tatty stuffed dog arthur

I have yet to find a way of resizing pics. using only BBCode, it's possible however to generate thumbnail images. Other than fixing up the max. pic. size using the facailities within phpBB or enabling the html image tag, I'm not sure what else is available.

I guess that all depends on your definition of failure dd. If I'm ever forced into the situation where I have to find work in the ELT business, then that would be my definition of failure. *sincerest apologies to Wally & Poolie, no offence*

I fail to see your point. The two pics. I have posted  are not sufficiently large that the use of a scrollbar is necessary. It only becomes a problem if one want to hotlink to a pic. & then dynamic resizing might be appropriate.

    Just for the record then...

I use PSP - Paint Shop Pro... dunno what photoshop is. This comes in handy though... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

It should be possible to us BBCode to resize...

    Code:
Resize an image (say from 1024x768) to fit just do this:

    [img=512x384]picture.jpg[/img]
I couldn't get it to work here though.

ok,ok... this is related to the thread topic...

    Only in America

But plans by a taxidermist in America to turn recently deceased pets into "soft, huggable" cushions as an "alternative way to remember your pet" have been thwarted by death threats from animal rights activists.

From a secret hideaway last night, Jeanette Hall, 29, a glamorous taxidermist from Nevada, said that she had received "hundreds of hate e-mails from all over the globe" about her pet pillows, made from the skins of cats, dogs, cows and horses.

She had thought that it would be a "great way to enjoy your cherished pet", charging $65 (£34) to transform a dead cat, $75-$125 for a dog, depending on size, and $150 for a horse. Instead, Miss Hall has found herself running a gauntlet of hate from people who described her home furnishings as sick, and her as the "devil incarnate" or "Cruella DeVille".

Her problems began after a news item about her pet pillows was circulated online. "I had people threatening to burn down my house," she said last night on her return from the World Taxidermy Championships in Springfield, Illinois.

Miss Hall hopes to resume the pet pillow service once the fuss has died down, working with her mother, who is a professional seamstress. She first advertised the "cheap alternative to taxidermy" service on her website a few months ago and received hundreds of orders from "thrilled" owners.

"Most people were happy that Fluffy was still on the couch," she said. Her most unusual request was for a cockatiel, which drowned when its owner's husband forgot to put down the lavatory lid and the bird fell in and could not escape.

Each cushion featured the animal skin on one side, with the other made from a choice of materials.

She sent bereaved owners instructions on how to preserve their adored animal after their death. They had to place them immediately in the freezer in a double bag, to prevent freezer burn and a condition known by taxidermists as "hair slippage". The next day, the corpses had to be double-bagged and sent by overnight express parcel service - not over a weekend - to prevent further deterioration.

When news of her service started attracting widespread criticism, Miss Hall removed all references to the pillows from her website, fearing that many emails sent by protesters contained computer viruses as well as abuse.

People logging on to internet chatrooms gave the pillows a mixed response. "How awful - this person needs to seek medical help," wrote one user. "There sure are some strange folk in this world. My dog was part of the family and is buried under a tree in my garden with a little plaque. No way would I ever have considered having him made into a pillow - sick !!!!!"

Others felt that Miss Hall had stumbled on a winning concept. "Why is everyone so horrified?" asked one. "To have a Blanca pillow would be amazing. That was the West Highland terrier our family had when I was a kid."

While female taxidermists are a rarity, Miss Hall - a keen shot since childhood, when she used to go hunting with her grandfather - previously made her name working not only with conventional elk heads and bear rugs, but producing oddities such as deer testicles mounted on a plaque for $125.

Miss Hall likes to target wild hogs with her Remington 7400 rifle. She once explained her passion for taxidermy by saying: "You get an animal that's blasted and shot up, and you think, how on earth am I going to fix this? But it comes back to life again. I love getting the expression in the eyes."

One of only two dozen female taxidermists, Miss Hall originally planned to become a wildlife warden in California but changed careers after watching a Burmese python being stuffed for a zoology project. She will mount snakes for $16 (£8.50) per foot.

Even before she went into hiding, she admitted that her profession had taken a toll on her love life. "I have run off boyfriends so much, it's not even funny," she explained, saying that some were put off when they opened the freezer to find a bear head.

When she does manage to persuade a man to spend an evening in her company, Miss Hall says that she follows her golden rule for an off-duty taxidermist looking for love: "Never pick up road-kill on the first date".
