    Sense and Sensibility!

3 Months ago, I thought the local immigration had come to their senses, they stopped handing out the piece of paper you need to fill in for the 90 day reporting.
The one you usualyy lose and have to ask for another, hence saving 50% of the trees, you simply go to immigration, pick up a blank form and fill it in there and then, nothing lost nothing wasted.

Sadly, I go back today three months later..what do they do...yes the blank form is there, I fill it in, take it to the counter, now they want four pages of photocopies..passport photo, landing card, entry stamp and visa....god help the forests of Thailand!

If you go for the 90 day registering thing here in Phuket ( retirement visa) they just add another stamp and extension to the first slip of paper you got.

This, of course , is after you have undergone an intensive interrogation -

    " Hello Papa! - extension ?"

    "yes"

"Any changes from last time ?"

"No - all the same "

    "Ok"

Bang Bang with the stamp and a squiqqle with a biro

"OK Papa - see you next time "

    Suits me !!

    ^ Lucky.
With a B visa, I remember filling out only one copy, but maybe they photo-copied it in the back. Always very pleasant to me, especially after Joe Jerk had just harrassed them.

Oh, I have no complaint against the immigration staff, they are usually just fine, all I am saying is, it's a complete waste of paper, another exercise in Thai beauracracy, what was wrong with the other system? Why the need for all this extra photocopies?
I mean we have the visa, they have our details...how many copies of my ugly mug do they really want? They will not accept a photocopy of two or three items on one page, even though it fits...I agree with the other poster here, someone is on a photocopier concession.
