I don't need to lean on alcohols deadly crutch, I have the Lords word to support me in the hard times.
Instead of a waking up in a with the poison of last night excess washing through my veins I now arise with vigour and energy, I then start the day with an 8 kms walk to refresh my temple of God and admire the good work of the Lord in the fields and the faces of the happy Issarn people.
I read the drunken incoherent ravings of the previous nights posters and think to myself "poor fools" why don't they see the light and spit in the face of the devil by forsaking his poisonous drink?

FOOLS give it up, join brother CMn, BG and myself by pledging abstinence from alcohol for life.

Whiskey, when I used to drink, it drove me crazy and left my whole body "tasting" of the shit for days. Nasty drug man.

Like anything over indulgence can ruin one's life.

Limit myself to one (maybe 2) good nights out a week. Never drink at home so the night out is well looked forward too.

Everyone needs to let go sometimes and everyone does it in different ways.

I've not touched whisky for 4 years now!
I used to get up to some weird things after a bottle.
Now I drink beer and feel great when I get up at 6 am

    There is one difference though.
When I drank Thai spirits I used to get an incredible erection and could go for hours without coming. But now if I drink 6 leos I pass out snoring and couldn't get it up if my life depended on it!

I seem to have lost the will to drink. I always used to drink to get drunk but now I have no desire to get trashed. Sociologists say that 27 is the new 21. perhaps they are right...

When I first moved to Thailand I was drinking cheap whiskey, as I was poor. Master Blend...chemically processed whiskey from the the Phillipines. Then I noticed that my body odor had changed dramatically. Nasty.

I switched to Spey Royal and things were fine until I started becoming a raging asshole when drunk. The little woman convinced to me give that up.

Now, in Thailand I drink Chang when with her or alone. Sangsom when out in the sticks with family or some stuff my wife's cousin makes...kind of like rum. I like it and the family is shocked when I knock back a few shots and don't fall down.

Now I work in Korea and drink soju...and too much of it. I actually had a hangover this morning, the first in 9 months. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I took a long nap yesterday afternoon, woke up at 9:30 p.m. and got a good soju buzz before hitting the hay around 2:30 and had to be in school at 8:30.

Damn, I hate that and won't be doing that again any time in the near future.

School's out for the day and I have a nice soju next to the computer right now.

It's putting on the weight so I need to give it up for a while and get off my ever fatter ass and get some exercise.

“You gotta love livin', baby, 'cause dyin' is a pain in the ass.”
“Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night - be it prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels.”
“I'm not one of those complicated, mixed-up cats. I'm not looking for the secret to life.... I just go on from day to day, taking what comes.”
“I'm gonna live till I die.”
“I would like to be remembered as a man who had a wonderful time living life, a man who had good friends, fine family - and I don't think I could ask for anything more than that, actually.”
“I drink to the confusion of our enemies”
“I am a thing of beauty.”
“Fresh air makes me throw up. I can't handle it. I'd rather be around three Denobili cigars blowing in my face all night.”
Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy.
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I used to make my own beer at uni. With the impatience of youth I would sometimes dip a glass in the still fermenting broth and quaff a premature brew. It did the job but also made my farts smell a bit funny.

Mate of mine back in Oz had a really savage mixed breed dog. When someone was there, other than the owner, it would try and take the person's leg off. Had to wear a muzzle and so it wouldn't bite everyone.

One day he got the dog pissed and you wouldn't believe the change in its character. It is the first time I could even pat the thing and it even seemed quite normal (as dogs go).

I suppose alcohol can soothe some savage beasts.

Spey and Master's are the most vile hangover inducing drinks ever. Sang Som was the only cheap Thai spirit that I was ever able to enjoy.

In a true spirit of communal concern I have embarked on the proposed experiment.
    Results to date;

Starting at the bottom of the ladder,

Hooch, grog, home brew, lao Kao or what ever.

Strong stuff, mine was flavoured a bit but I'm not gay.
First night Lao Kao and beer (small Leo) chasers. Result; got pissed, no hangover, slept reasonably well. Woke up with a mouth like a badgers ass.

Second night straight Lao Kao, no beers. OK mellowly pissed taking small shots at regular intervals whilst doing the photo stuff. No worries, bed. Didn't sleep too well and woke up thirsty a few times. Bit of a head in the morning.

On to Mekhong, straight. SHOCKING. blacked out at around 9 in the evening woke feeling like shit and can't remember a thing.

Mekhong with beers. SHOCKING. blacked out at around 11 in the evening woke feeling like shit and can't remember a thing.

That's it for now. Recovery time.

Conclusions; Mekhong is poison. I don't know what's in it but I've never had a reaction like that. Goes down real smooth, like Fundador but knocked me for six.

    More later. Chok Dee
