Yes he is. He has been down since his wife passed away and quite lonely.
He is touring about and met a new friend. He finds the Thais to be friendly and the food delicious. He is a history buff, so the ruins and older temples have been enjoyable for him.
I am expecting his ATM card to arrive by the end of the week and then he will be doing some more travel.
hmmm....This had happened to me, and the bank recovered and returned my card with an apology. Passport needed. I had to await their ATM crew's arrival for the morning's restocking of cash. Best, before leaving your home country to advise your parent bank that you will be out of country and particularly that you will be using their card in Thailand. Banks seem spooked about Thailand for some unfathomable reason.
