Thread: What Do You Imagine Posters Look Like?

Lets think about that for a minute. Those of us that don't have a natural propensity to portray oneself as a bigot or nationalist may rather not get the tar and feather treatment that is rampant here on Teakdoor.
Example: I used to try to contribute good content to the forum ie; the cost of farmlamd ect thread that had good folks giving input however it seems as of late we have grown old, stale and in a sense bitter of others.

Believe it or not I will come clean and say that yes, yes! I am jealous of AO and JPPR for having the nerve to flee their homeland for what they believe is a better life. And more power to them for their individual decisions however I must say that I have felt a bit of a doublestandard going back to the "Old Monkey" days.

So In summation I would say I'm somewhat reluctant to show you my face until you all show me yours. In that way I'll know who to let slide as senile old bastards, who to regard as respectable and who to punch in the face.

By the way, I could have got one gold star for my last real thread but no. Many folks gave a thumbs up and that's cool as it's why I even bother to post as in knowing some of you guys may want to someday cross borders ect and actually know someone that isn't out to bilk them on the other side.

Just my, how did 48 say it, my fourth percentile worth. I'm still looking for a bell end curve on that fast ball.

Someone PMd with a clip of your post where you stated something about AO and I and moving to Thailand..actually fleeing was the word.

I guess it's all about what one makes of life. I never fled the US, I left by choice to experience living somewhere else. Now I did move here for a US company so my move was also driven by employment opportunities. I never came here to be an old drunk in bars chasing VJJ living on a pension. I mean someday I will really retire and live off investments and my IRA.

Anyway I actually love living here and always have. I loved living in the states as well. I enjoy being here and looking at the US with a different set of eyes. For my wife and I, the US is now a nice place to visit, pick up a few things and return home here.

As for posting pics of oneself on any web forum, that's personal choice. I wouldn't do it because there are some weird folks out there and some as we have seen become obsessed with others. That said I do enjoy the Photoshop posts by Dill and a few others albeit they are at the expense of others.

Most of that P.Shop stuff is light-hearted and clearly meant in jest with no harm intended though there are some that take it a bit too far (but that's their intent at the outset). And there are also some legit nasty fuckers that involve wives/kids by seeking out and posting off-forum pics.

As I recall he set the hook. Just a bit to hit a nerve. I did go overboard though. I usually hold the rail but did not on that day.

I'm sorry. Yes, I may have said something about stuffy old suits in board rooms but yea, that's why you found new horizons. A new perspective from another latitude.

Cabinetry looked great btw. The workshop too. I recall the thread on crating stuff over. That makes me scared. I've got to learn to let go of all the stuff. After all it's true....

Nice, good to see folks on a bit of a ramble. Nothing like a road trip to see the sights.
We may head to Arizona this summer as the guy I made a deal with in Laos (new bridge and all) finally connected with folks out that way that lost contact throughout the years. They gave them a visit and just came back not long ago. They ain't doing so bad so I guess we have a free hotel stay if we make it there. My, what a few million kip can do.
Believe it or not I actually felt for the man and his wife so before we left I gave him another few.

I feel there are more folks getting tense about land lot lines and the like. I guess that is normal. Hadn't felt that in prior years.

I agree, when the light hearted jabs become viscous and include attacks and wife and children then its gone to far and those people should step back and check themselves.
