I'm.surprised that you are surprised. Monty pythonesque humour is enjoyed by Australians hugely. Didn't think it was a thing in the states? Just a bit of harmless pisstaking really. Unlike what Donald is upto at the moment.

I had a girlfriend once upon a time that insisted I watch Monty Python and Red Dwarf...as I remember both were on PBS. A group of us would dress up at halloween as the Knights of the Round Table (costumes done up by said gf) and do the bar costume contest thing, coconut shells included. Twas a ton of fun. She passed away last week.
Sorry to hear that, Topper.
I somehow missed this last week.
In all my years as a TEFL chancer pretending to be a proper teacher, all these things were a given.
I've never worked for a school that didn't pay well for the privilege of employing me and paying for the privilege of getting me there to actually employ me!
:)
Surely healthcare is a must wherever you work too? I've never signed a contract without it.
Obviously, an internatiional school gig pays more if you are at a proper international school like Willy, but then you are working with kids every day...
Yeah the kids are a bit annoying tbh. Always with the same questions "what do I need to do waaah", "why another movie day waah", "sir you're late again waaah". Ugh just STOP. I'M HUNGOVER
When I first started as a TEFL chancer, we had a session on using film in the classroom. My boss led it (PGCE qualified in the UK) and the general message - as we know - was to exploit a short clip of no more than 5 minutes.
A week later I walked past his classroom and saw him playing Mr Bean for the whole of his lesson, rocked back on his chair with a can of coke (this was at one of the top schools in Bangkok, btw).
:smileylaughing:
A mate of mine in Lao posted up a photo of him and students in his first gig in bangkok in 1996 at the assumption university language centre. He has been teaching in Asia ever since. I am hard on the Teflers because I've met so many of them that were brickies before they got yellow fever. You, hal are on top of yer game as is my mate. Tbf I'm sure I couldn't do the same job.
Mostly coz I think Leo is shite:)
Give me Monty python everyday. Believe it or not..Aussies grew up with British humour on the telly. Back then we had no choice there was no internet. And 3 channels on the telly. We had American sitcoms to but I loved the UK humour more. Yeah he is dry as fuck
I don't see much humour in his post or evidence of him being " pretty sharp" but it' says more about you than him.to stick up for a countryman.
I'm sure in Real Life me and BLD would get along fine, but online it's his reading comprehension and inference skills that are letting him down.
Not to mention that he's being used as a puppet by others, who are prepared to get him banned for voicing their opinions.
I wasn't having a go. I found it commendable that you stuck up for your fellow country man . That dry tefling twat.
Dry as fuk.
So no evidence then. Just lies. Oh so very dry lies.
But anyway. Crack on with songkran stay DRY.
Why would you think that? If so. What would be his agenda? He rarely posts these days.
No more sharp and witty comebacks? No more inferences? Nighty night then petal
