Happy Easter - Christ is Risen

Well he won't be risen until Monday but it is that time of year to celebrate our Lord being nailed to a cross in most gruesome fashion by scoffing our collective gobs with chocolate. He died for our sins so make sure you get your money's worth on the gluttony.

What eggs are you giving and receiving?

I gave Signorina Singapura a big box of Lindt dark chocolate eggs

And I scored a Trumpesqian golden Ferrero Rocher in return.

Trump had a run-in with Aussie Ambassador Rudd in his Farage interview this week so it might behove Rudd to send Trump one of these eggs - 'Oh Monsieur Ambassador with this Ferrero Rocher you are really spoiling us'

Also a bag of small FR eggs to fill in the gaps

I'll wager that that's not all you gave her.

    Happy Easter, Looper!

Either Aussie 'eggs' are very small or Signorina Singapura has very big hands?

    That's not good, Looper?

Eggs and Bunnies are more to do with the Looper tradition of legover time than the resurrection.

Happy Eastre, everyone's favourite pagan festival...

Here's my divine contribution to the Easter Thread..

A Del Boy Faberge egg found in some old toy car today and a Easter bunny Crumpet for breakfast,it just so happens that I'm visiting a staunch Catholic country over the Easter period.
I hope everything is open and not just the ruddy 365 churches..

This reincarnation deal big amongst many religion, tho I never wished to be reborn as a can of evaporated milk.

Also dying and coming back is so much hassle with TM30 and 90 day reports I'll settle for a long snooze, as someone often told to go to hell I'll have plenty of ops to upbraid my lawyer for not recommending the special vest that yields six dozen virgins.

Happy holidays everyone order some of those Thai die pills toxin had,it seems like yer at death's door but aftr a breath of fresh air its walkabout time...............

She actually forgot them when she went home this morning. Or maybe she does not like dark chocolate.

    Fortunately, I love dark chocolate!

Amen brother. The crucifixion of our Lord and Saviour is a serious business and I have a rewatch of The Passion of the Christ planned for the weekend (Easter not all about fluffy bunnies - although I like the chocolate meerkats that are trending this year)

    ^that's kinda quaint, miss kit.

Looper has more Jesus/ Catholic paraphernalia than I do! I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that he doesn't use "Jesus sandals" unlike a certain esteemed member of this forum.

^^ A lot of Jesus stuff like that come out of Mexico. It is pretty kitschy.

There’s only one piece of Jesus paraphernalia I have ever wanted. It was a rustic carving of Saint Michael with the Devil underfoot that I saw on Mindanao. It was in a shop and the shop keeper told me it was very old. I didn’t believe her and didn’t buy it. Makes me want to kick myself to this day. Didn’t matter if it was old or not. It was GREAT.

I wondered why Christmas lasts for around 3 months in the Phils. I suspect its because Easter occupies the other 9 months.

It looks like Jesus is blasting off from Boca Chica on His ascension to the right hand of The Father enshrouded inside his own Sacred Heart... Easter-tastic MissK!

The flamingo and palm tree take it to the surreal next level!

Have a blessed Easter sister Katie and feel free dazzle the TD unbelievers with a pic of your candle-lit grotto on this most worshipful weekend!

They will fall to their knees like Saul on the road to Damascus!

How many have gotten absolutely shitfaced and woke up 3 days later, thinking they were in a cave?

@hughcow - ya got the numbers wrong. It's 4 months of Christmas - September to December (all the - ber months) plus 1 week in January (Feast of three kings/ epiphany). Then lent is 40 days.

@helge - yes, they still do the crucifixion thing, as well as some who flagellate themselves. It's only done in Pampanga province, though (to my knowledge).

@looper - I don't have a grotto, either at my flat or at my parents' house. There is a statue of Mary which has a special place in my folks' house. I think I'm due to inherit it, since my sister doesn't have any interest in it. I don't really care for it but my dad transported it from his hometown and it's a family heirloom. If I don't take it with me or dispose of it, my ancestors might send the wrath of the heavens on me...
