    Don Lemon, Elon Musk Interview

Not sure if this has been posted, yet.

Things got heated, early, and stayed that way throughout the hour long interview.
As insufferable as Don Lemon is, he came prepared, and it was obvious Musk was not ready for it. He came across, looking like a petulant child.

I am not a fan of Elon Musk and I had never heard of Don Lemon before but I quite enjoyed that interview/discussion.

I like the coolness and calmness of Don Lemon. I find Elon Musk hard work to listen to so I was surprised I managed to watch the whole 66 minutes and 57 seconds of the video.

I saw the interview when first released. Musk was dismantled by Lemon.

I loved Elon‘s take on racism.
Basically, if we stop talking about it, it’ll go away.
I think that was Trump‘s approach to Covid.

Lemon is such an egotistic self-serving wank@$ too - very irritating and vain.

Having watched it all, Lemon was extremely dishonest and consistently tried to lay traps by conflating ideas and falsely "quoting" Musk's previous statements.

I don't like Musk at all, but thought he came across quite well here, imho. Not great. But, Lemon is awful in every way - it's unclear whether Lemon knows he is being dishonest or actual believes his own diatribe; he seems pretty narcissistic (I'm not saying that Musk doesn't...).

What was he being dishonest about?
What “false quotes” are you referring to?

This is just not accurate. Do you even go on to Twitter/X at all? Everything Lemon quoted is factual and open for anyone to see on that platform. The truth is that Musk is a bottom feeding scumbag of epic proportions and says some really horrendous shit on Twitter.

It is well known that the courtship between Musk, Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino, and Lemon went on for months. They literally bent over backwards to get him. Not surprised to see you playing the fanboy.

There were no lies. Not one, and you will not be able to prove that comment at all.

That did appear to mostly be the case. There were many cases along the lines you stated. Stuff like him claiming Musk had said things which were actually just a small part of a larger tweet/article that Musk had retweeted or made a comment on. If I make a comment on a beachbound/other thread or post that doesn't mean I said and/or agreed everything that poster has written in the thread/post. It was very low level dishonest discourse.

Lemon didn't state any facts, just opinions which Musk highlighted (correctly) many times.

Musk has some strange ways of explaining himself, and his explanations around race aren't very convincing, but other than that Lemon was (as always) useless. Did even CNN kick him out for his consistent dishonest reporting?

I have the opinions I have because I have them. I only work to improve for all humans and this is the thanks I get.
Why can't we all be friends and live in peace?

True. Most of what he stated, was just psycho-babble, conspiracy theory drivel, straight from the mouth of the megalomaniac that is Elon Musk.

Both were equally poor from a debating point of view. It was more a discussion.

Musk repeatedly said his tweets/opinions were based on what he had read. Lemon repeatedly said research says this/that/the opposite. I don't recall hearing either give any sources so it was just an exchange of opinions, though it was still interesting and useful for those who wanted to know Musk's opinions and his thinking on the issues they covered.

I want to clarify. Elon Musk has said and done things recently that I don't like or approve.

That does not change the fact that he and his engineering skills are what have made SpaceX and Tesla what they are. I will continue to admire him for that.

I also state, that he has not done anything wrong regarding Starlink in Ukraine. That's all lies.

I know this for a fact.

He does not have an engineering degree. But he has done top notch engineering at both SpaceX and Tesla. As several top engineers working for him stated. Denying that is nonsnsical.

Jeff Bezos has an engineering degree, but he never did anything comparable.

Yes, indeed. Both came across as equally poor debaters. But that is what you expect from Musk if you have seen him in previous interviews. Debating is not his strong suit and it is not his job.

Whereas debating is part of the interviewer Lemon's job. So I would say Lemon came out looking worse on balance.

^ That is indeed the point.

Musk has an unusual discourse style, not very fluid, but he appears to be quite honest (if a tad strange in some of his views). &, I don't particularly like the fella - I liked him more after this interview than before. He was quite "human" in discussing his depression type issues whereas Lemon was just trying to trap him, insult him and generally be abusive with a smug smile on his face - he is an utter tw$%.

Takeovers, the most interesting element of the interview (you've probably heard of it before, but I don't really follow Musk or his tech companies) was the new Tesla/SpaceX car that will be announced soon - could be exciting for lovers of the Jetsons.

I heard of it. But any announcement was quite short on details. Have no idea what it actually is.

I am much more interested in the new budget car that will bring electric cars into the mass market. At or below $25,000, that's for a real car, not like the glorified golf carts that are now available. Electric cars will become mass market not through legislation. They need to be attractive to the buyers.

How's Germany doing with the "charging challenge" ?

I think that all countries faces huge infrastructure investments, if it goes 'mass market'.
