My digs in Aberdeen were pretty decent. 8,300 baht all in for 4 nights. Free bottle of wine and basic essentials like cooking oil, S&P, washing up liquid etc.

Very warm and cosy, really got lucky with that one.

That’s a 4 hour drive to Fort William, where I am now, and about another hour to Kinlochleven.

    I’m on a bus in 25 mins.

    did you drive up there?

I fly out LHR on the 5th Feb.

Might have taken the sleeper but fancy breaking the journey up with a Saturday night along the way.

Who lives on the train line? Joe? Dill? Hall?

First thing’s first, get a wee shop in:

    A Highland Fling-img_6020-jpeg
    £33 for that lot.

Then a walk round to Mither D’s for some home cooked comforts. Lamb in this case.

    A Highland Fling-img_6019-jpeg

Lovely. And a chance to test drive my new heated mitts, which by the way, only used 3% of the powerbank on the 30 minute walk.

    Ooh, toastie?

    Thanks Dirk,

In your shopping supplies pictures you actually posted pictures of what a normal person would buy in the UK..

There were no baked beans, no peas and no brussel sprouts...well done sir, or do they not have that up north?

Don't know about the beans, but veggies are not grown north of Hadrian's wall and they have no word for 'vegetable' in Celtic.

    .
Apart from the beer, it looks like it is a breakfast shop for the next morning (eggs, bacon, sausages and bread), so the only veggies needed might be baked beans!

    HNY MM.

I'll get some at the weekend. Right now, the only place I see daylight is at the training centre.

There's no place for beans in a breakfast butty. Wait for my highland breakfast pic for correct usage.

There may be a breakfast tomato in the future of this thread.

Thanks Katie, just trying to get the thread up to date. I've not been able to get onto the site for the last couple of days. tried a different link than the usercp and it let me on, strange.

Real men don't make breakfast butties, they build them.

Preparation is the key to success
