Christmas 2023 was declared officially open for business today with festive music and stalls on offer along the beach front on a coastal Big BMX bike ride with Senorita.

The naughty fairy showed up to finger the naughty kids in the crowd before Santa's delivery.

Senorita was recording the closing laser light show for posterity which I was pleased to note included a lengthy and detailed exposition of the Nativity

I got jingled today when the first Christmas beetle of the season flew in to the kitchen.

Christmas beetles are the sign that the Crimbles is kringling down under and have been in ecologically worryingly short supply the past 2 years so hoping they are making a comeback for 23.

I think he was attracted by my fairy lights. I went for an icy cool white look on the main tree this year. Gotta mix it up a bit and can't do the same lights every year.

The angel of infinite sorrows has alighted at the top of the tree and reminds us that Christmas is a time for soulful reflection as well as a season for razzing it up.

The angel has displaced the tree topper star which has wandered stage right to become the wandering star of light over the Nativity, which has warm white lights this year for a change.
