    Children say the Darnedest Things

Kids say the most surprising things at times. Many of you have children of one age or the other and may have heard funny or surprising things.

I've been teaching grade one over the last two weeks, and I have a challenging student that has said a few darnedest things.

I was told to 'Fuck Off' the other day in a very loud voice across the room with 20 other kids listening. A six year old boy.

The day after I was asked by the same kid, while he sat beside my desk on the carpet, "Ms.... how do you say the F word in French?"

Everyday there has been a nugget from this kid.

Feel free to add your own.

Haha, no, I ignored him, as he was supposed to be watching a video. The boy has issues.. he is being tested for severe AD/HD and I think he may also have Oppositional Defiant Disorder. When he first told me to fuck off, he was mad that he was told to go to his seat as he wanders around picking up anything and also hits people. He swears frequently, a real piece of work. He often goes for a walk with an EA so I can get a break.
Today he was saying 'putain' over and over again on the carpet, and I just realized that means whore or bitch in French. lmao. No one knew what he was saying, I thought he was saying poutine at the time. I shouldn't laugh, the boy needs meds or help, or both. It is sad that he gets away with hitting kids. Another teacher told me that he kicked her in the calf last week, and she could hardly walk. She brought it up to the principal and he said nothing he could do.

I was warned twice by other teachers to be careful as he kicks and hits people all the time and also swears aloud. I get kids coming to me all the time saying he hit me in the face etc.. thankfully tomorrow is my last day, then on to another class.

Well, that's a proactive and constructive attitude.

    Fun thread, btw.

^He is in the midst of being tested by professionals, hasn't gotten an IEP. He does say the darnedest things (surprising).
    Anyway, I'm off.
