    Do dogs eat bananas?

I am asking this question because a month or so ago I left a bunch of bananas on the back step of the house. In the morning they were gone. I wouldn't think too much of it except that a few days later a plastic bag of eggs appeared - I ate the eggs, they were fine.

I forgot about this till yesterday. At the weekend I decided to make myself a compost bin out of a plastic dustbin turned upside down and the bottom cut out of it. I filled it with bits of banana trunk and some chopped up flower stalks and then added all the left overs from the days food preparation, including some limes that had gone soft. In the morning all the left over food had gone.

Now I can believe that some hungry dog might just take the bananas and possibly bring me a bag of eggs in exchange but I don't think that a dog will take the lid off the compost maker, eat rotten limes and then put the lid back on.

    ???
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

I had a dog that used to open the fridge, steal some food, close the door then actually hide the wrappers behind the fridge.

As for dogs eating bananas, I don't know, but a hungry dog will eat almost anything.

Dogs will eat most fruit. It's actually very good for them; some will eat it more readily than others.

I don't think it's a dog bringing you the eggs or eating the compost, though...

I had a Boxer back in the UK and it's favourite treat was banana. As soon as I showed it to her she used to start drooling. Answer to your question is yes.

Dogs are omnivores and will eat pretty much anything. Cats are carnivores though. Also, generally pet cats are quicker to tuck into a dead owner than pet dogs.

^ Yes, they will. The Hilton donates leftover food to us daily for our dogs. There is regularly baby octopus & calamari or other squid in there. The dogs love it. They also love the 'homemade' burgers, the steak, the sushi, the duck, the schnitzel, the sausages, the French toast, the curries..... ad infinitum that they get from there

Dog's eat better than I do

I've never seen a Soi dog eat squid.

They eat the chicken balls reluctantly & those fermented sausage (I think they are made of dog) certainly aren't their favourite, but I've only ever had dogs turn their noses up at squid.

^ That's cos the better fed soi dogs will be picky about what they eat. I've had ones turn up their noses at McD burgers before. Oh, actually, that's probably sensible

Yeah, our dogs do eat well now. Lobster, king prawn, dim sum; you name it & loads of fruit & veggies. Only problem is, it's all mixed in together, not that they're bothered by that.

I had a cat that could do that, but normally she would cook the food and prepare me a nice meal ready for when I came home

Puppies seem to love bananas, but my dogs turned their noses up if I offered them some when they grew up. Didn't go for squid, but loved raw cauliflower. The kitties bounced off the walls for raw squid.

Did you have to wipe the drool off his chin and change his nappies as well?

Eating cow shit's not that bad (unless they lick you afterwards), but rolling in it....grooh! Cos guess who has to bath them? Sorry, it happened to me a few days ago - cow shit everywhere. That stuff's green...

I had a dog who would roll in cow manure: A Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Her cow herding instincts were quite keen. She would also nip you heels if you walked ahead of her.
You couldn't let her run out in country near cows unless you were prepared to rinse her off afterwards.

    I did too.

Our border collie eats anything that we are eating. Salad sandwiches he always leaves the beetroot until last but will eventually eat it, especially if the cat comes to sniff and see what he is eating.

I also once knew a dog who used to pick up the fallen oranges under the orange tree, half peel them and suck the juice out. He was a nutty dalmation.

Mum's old beable loved carrot and cucumber. SHe would sell her soul for a bit of cucumber. She once walked by me whilst I was eating on the floor and stole a carrot right off my plate and kepy walking.

Her cavalier King Charles would sell her soul for cucumber as well and scrambled eggs.

And cat shit if she got a chance. Used to find her sometimes with a brown cigar hanging out of her mouth.
