I think most blokes on here have a dishwasher at home. She's a keeper if she does all the cooking and ironing too.

Edit: Can I say that in 2023?

Top tip - dissappear them one at a time until she only has one item of each, saves on washing up.

Also always buy white or black socks!
Nothing different like Pringles themed or different colours , you will guaranteed a world of pain and the dog will get blamed.

How hard is it to put a pair of socks in a washer and not lose one??

No one suggests that you have to dry your drag custume or your girlfriend's strap-on on the line.

We dry clothes outside in Thailand like most but never in direct sunlight, instead we have a wash house which has the washing machines in and a roofed over drying area with racks to hang the clothes up. Instead of ye traditional bamboo poles to hang them on I put up 1/2 inch water pipe with rebar through the centre, lasted 12 years and counting

No, you're not allowed to say that anymore in 2023, especially if you have younger colleagues. You'll be cancelled.

If you're among majority old farts, then I guess it's a case of what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Every so often, we (at work) have online training modules that we have to complete - about gender issues, internet/ social media ethics, workplace ethics, etc.

    ******

Re: a dishwashing machine, I haven't seen that anywhere here in PH, even in appliance stores. They probably don't stock it since it won't sell. Those who are rich enough to buy a dishwasher (machine), they hire maids instead.

I've only seen the dish-machines in friends' houses in the US - I think those came with the house. Those who had small families preferred to wash dishes by hand. But one friend (she had 3 small kids) - she used the dishwasher.

As for washing machines, they're much in use. Some have the washer+spin dryer only, some have the washer-drier combo. I haven't seen anyone who bought a separate dryer - we have the sun for that.

Agree with Mendy & Joe - sun dried clothes smell good! And no, there's no smoke or haze in my area.

AC is the single largest reduction in the spread of Malaria and other mosquito borne diseases.

it is also what allows 99% of expats to tolerate the swamp...as well as offering cooler temps and fewer cases of heat stroke to millions of cash-bearing tourists...

Well When I coke, I do my own dishes. But when my wife cooks for everyone she does it all. I like cooking my dinner meals. Seldom ever make lunch. My wife does all the laundry, folds and puts away. Changes the bedding weekly and makes up the bed every day where you could drop a quarter on the sheets and it would bounce. Almost military style which I love.

Yep. SE Asia is a must for AC

I only use AC at night in my bedroom as I like how it conditions the air and it offers a comfortable sleep environment. Rest of the time is fans. Also as noted above, I never sleep at night with windows open here....EVER. Not gonna fight skeeters. Even with good screens they get in and all it takes is one to pass on Dengue fever.

^ Your choice of course, but the Aedes mosquito is active during the day... you'll be bitten walking around the garden in daylight rather than in bed at night.

We originally had a washer dryer combo system like you mentioned Katie. They do not work very well at all unless you do super small loads which means you are doing laundry constantly. We have a big washer and a large Electrolux dryer and my wife can do all the laundry in a few hours. I couldn't imagine my wife doing it all and hanging it out anymore. I remember all the times of her doing it and either the rain would come or big wind and blow the rack over, especially with bed covers and sheets. Used to make her mad as hell and I felt bad. So Dryer it is and no way we will go back to hanging out clothes anymore.

Understood Mendy but not taking any chances. Simply not worth it when you do not have too. But its personal preference of course. I do not like sweating at night and kicking the bed sheets off, then pull them back on. Our electric bill here is pretty consistent and not very much overall. Just a comfort thing. My wife loves AC in the room at night. She uses none during the day even with brutal summer temps , same with me. I turn on fan at the pool bar and pour me a nice ice cold one. Takes that edge right off along with a dive in the pool....
