I met a couple of Aussies in Kanchanaburi in 2005 when I was doing the backpacking thing and we got on the piss together. We had a cracking night and we got talking about British comedy. One of the lad's points was how much he loved it and how much we got away with at home compared to Oz, but I didn't think too much of it at the time and we just ended up talking about Little Britain, Stella Street etc.
I'm now looking at many of these skits and thinking we wouldn't have a chance today (1.15 no way, 3.21 not a chance on earth). On the BBC too!:

The world is shit now, innit?
Edit: I remember still living at home with my mum and dad after I had just finished uni around 2000 when I was staying up to watch Stella Street (I wasn't wanking to TVX either). The most underrated comedy show of all time.
