Because you get it, Stumpy, the cheaper you go on a battery, the more frequently you get stuck in the middle of nowhere wishing you could find a new one.
Fvck that.
yep, you can buy cheaper and replace quicker![]()
I'll have to check what battery they put in 2+ years ago, as it's still perfect according to their tests - and they could make money by saying otherwise. Think it was around 2-3k, but sure me ol' memory ain't the best and I couldn't really give a shiz either way.
Me fingers tell me that 2k every 2 years or 4k every four years doesn't save you any money if you go the cheapy one.![]()
New starter relay in, and she's as good as... well, new.
Bada bing bada boom, great wee shop.
Some nice gear.
A helmet for Sir Nev.
I don't often boycott things, other then forums for a few weeks when in a hissyfit for being reprimanded. But Since The Red Bull Heir Affair I've never bought or supported anything associated with the brand.
If Santa refuses to buy me the BMW F900r, I may settle for some new kit.
I am pretty in pink.
Google Maps
Well recommended if anyone's looking for a service or some bits n pieces up noorf.
Damn. Never even started. That's some find.
Did you hear of that shop in Khon Kaen that had around 20 new 2 strokes around 10 years ago. They had gotten them before they were outlawed so they could still be registered legally. I think they were selling them at 58k thb iirc. TZM150 and maybe NSR150r, but not the much loved SP version. Perhaps still have one or two if yer interested.
?????????????????? ??????? ?????????????? ??????? | Khon Kaen
That's their shop, if you want to check if they still have one or two in stock. I know a person that bought one around 10 years ago for <60k, and they had around 10 of them sitting dusty out the back for 15 years. I don't know of any other Thai dealership that still had/has new stock of 2 strokes in their inventory.
Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
How long can an older automatic scooter stay un-started before seizing up?
A tenant moved back home after 4 years and left their old Honda Click behind saying I can take it if I want to. I think it was last taxed less than the 3 year cut-off point. And last started around 6 months ago from what they said.
It's got 2 flat tyres, would need a new battery and possibly starter motor, I guess new spark plug n fluids wouldn't do any harm.
I was just gonna leave it be, but then thought I could make a fun lil project out of it. Strip it down a bit, get it running, paint it pink or some snazzy shiz and give it to Teeny on her birthday and pretend that I bought it.
Maybe.
Around how long does it take for these things to seize up round these parts.
That I have no tools, no experience, and absolutely no idea what the fudge I'm doing when it comes to such things, could be a fun lil project for a few weeks. Cheers.
It won't "seize up". It's got oil in it. Small Hondas run forever.
Buy a cheap foot pump (150-ish Baht from Global House) and reinflate the tires to about 25psi. That way the scoot is now mobile and can be pushed around.
A new battery is about 500 baht or you can boost it from a car. But a battery maybe cheaper than long booster cables. Check the oil level and the water level in the radiator press the button and see what happens. You can then go from there. It won't start if the side stand is down. Oh and there is oil in the transmission at the back.
You don't have to paint it if you don't want to. New plastic body panels can be purchased relatively cheaply from Honda or local parts shops. (https://pec.thaihonda.co.th/Default.aspx) You can mix and match them. Not exactly below but you get the idea. Oh and barbeque paint for the exhaust.
If it does start you can go through the spark plug etc. routine. Labour is inexpensive here so don't be afraid to ask your nearest mocy shop to have a look; if it won't start.
If you really want a good job tell them to fix it up as if you want to sell it. I had a Honda Wave engine separated and all new bearings installed and a rebuilt crankshaft for 3000-ish baht.
I think Teeny will be thrilled to bits.
Happy to listen if you wish.

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all
Those who cannot change their mind, cannot change anything.
Cheers mate, good idea about the foot pump, there's a Decatlon one for bicycles somewhere here, and another for a Muay Thai inflatable kicking thing.
To be honest I'd be interested in making it unique and different, rather than just getting it back to normal. And used as a bit of a learning tool, as I know SFA about such things.
will get it back here in the pickup today or tomorrow, cheers.
I know most of the motocy shops around here and expense isn't the issue. The issues are that they are generally absolute fokwits that are as clueless as me, and usually do more damage than repairs, and anyone that happens to be half knowledgeable is fully booked out and doesn't have time.
Remember, just because Somchai has a motorbike mechanic sign out the front of his shophouse doesn't mean that he has any mechanical or motorbike knowledge, it just means one thing.
That at some unknown time in the past, Somchai had enough money to make a sign.
I sent a message to one lad asking how much to deliver and install a new battery and starter motor.
If those are successful I'll go full on into replacing the.... sparkplug, oil filter, oil, air filter, brake pads, tires, fuses etc then look at remodeling it in me own way.
Cheers.
Actually, calling Sir Vocal N.
If I go to start it with the kick starter and not the button, would it use a starter motor for that? or should only a new battery make it turn over? If nothing else is wrong with it.
Cheers.
If the battery is flat just kick start it. It might take a charge if it starts.
Centre stand, ignition on, kick.
the fuel may be bad if sat for that long.
^ Cheers D.
Decided to go pick it up.
Was a bit sad to upset the mouse that had built a nice cozy nest in the engine bay.
Will do a full photo/video thread on the (planned) restoration soon. Cheers.
Yep, check the oil level first. Try to kick in over manually to check its not siezed. If ok, change the oil, fuel, air filter and sort the battery. You may beed to get he drive belt checked/ changed too. Its a click so water cooled, get that changed too.
^ Cheers, the oil is okay, and..... actually, I better not say too much. Will stick up a full pic/video thread soon. Heading out to pick up Teeny-Weeny for some Friday dinner now. Cheers.
Catch yaz on the flip side.
Teeny weenyevery postof yours starts of inoculous enough but always ends with you telling us about the teen girlfriend. Christ you're a strange fucko.
