Saw one of the Iron Man Honda ADV160 versions earlier this month, thought it was an owner do-up but they're Honda Thailand limited editions for this country only, 3000 total.
Maybe not the sales hit they expected, now being offered with a 15,000 baht discount voucher.

There's a bit of a debate on YT about this motorcycle accident. It's a short so it won't embed and u have to click on it.
Of course it's the white vehicles fault. But the riders anticipation was lacking and his reaction time was bad. He could have avoided it with one or both.
Every time I'm in a line like that on a 2 lane road with one lane going faster , I am totally ready for someone to dart over into the moving lane. On a motorcycle , I'm even more cognizant of it. I would have hugged the white line at the very least. And would be 100% anticipating stupidity like this from the motorists in that lane. This guy wasn't doing any of that. He was in la-la land.
It looks like he also fucks up the steering. His first movement is brakes. His second movement appears to be steering into the car. What an idiot.

Those cameras are deceptive when it comes to judging distance. Looks like bike was already past tail of car when car turned in. Not much you can do at that stage.
Clearly coming up to a line of stopped traffic so should have been at walking pace and stop on a sixpence.
I agree that the front of the bike was already past the rear bumper of the car. But with any anticipation , he could have steered away from it. And there still could have been contact. But it would have just tapped him further right, which he should have been going.Quote:

^ Everything's easier in hindsight skiddy but, as you say, anticipation is the key. I wouldn't like to steer away and into the tree.
That reminds me of a colleague yeats ago who steered to avoid a kid running out. He was only doing about 30mph, steered straight into a lampost and killed instantly.
I have rarely ridden on a main road in Thailand. The stats are horrendous on bike road deaths but the more I drive a car The more I wonder if the majority are just abject stupidity by the motorcyclist. I have never seen one who rides defensively. They all seem to think road laws do not apply to motorcycles. Most From riding on the wrong side of a major busy road to trying to squeeze through on the left of a vehicle turning left to the dodging in front of a car in heavy traffic with about 6 inches between his rear tire and the car bumper and then hitting the breaks. Then there is the obligatory riding on foot paths and squeazing between two trucks with a cigarette papers width on each side.
^ I've ridden on Thai roads everyday for the last 17 years, on small, medium and big bikes, my last daily bike which was bought new had over 150k km on it before I gave it to an underprivileged technical college so they could take it all apart and learn about putting together the internals.
Have probably done 300-400k km in Thailand and I've come off once, when gravel got me while going around a junction corner slip road, front wheel went down in the gravel and I high-sided.
Shoulda counter-steered.
The time I went into one of the Ratchada underpasses too fast and went into the back of a Civic because both lanes of traffic were stopped inside it and I was incorrectly riding center lane as opposed to behind the car wheel line (and thus could pulled up between the cars) doesn't count because I had forgotten about it.
We'll wait, i'm sure there are more :)
Plus when the woman behind me at a u-turn went straight in the back of me as I went around.
Ah shure me ol' memory ain't the best.
Possibly from the time the truck hit me at full speed and shattered my helmet.

I loved the bright orange Triumph Speed Triple of the time (around 1994?), but couldn't afford it and didn't have a licence. :)
So, I spent £1200 on a Honda NSR 125FK (an Italian import unrestricted to a mighty 33 bhp) which I got to 100mph down a long straight hill. Loads of fun, 2 stroker (obviously), and probably quicker than 4 stroke 250s nowadays (?).

Bloody brilliant little bit of fun it was, but I sold it when I nearly had 3 high speed crashes in a week (due to my stupidity and poor riding skills).
