Defender ISFJ-T.
I turned out to be:
Personality type: Entrepreneur (ESTP-A)
Traits: Extraverted – 59%, Observant – 73%, Thinking – 52%, Prospecting – 51%, Assertive – 58%
Role: Explorer
Strategy: People Mastery
Don't know what that means, but it doesn't sound very good.
^^ I'm also a Defender but with ISFJ-A.
For whatever it's worth, which is probably not much with these sort of tests..
And consultants (of which I've been one for a long time) are getting ripped on here but they're the first person hired in some industries when a project is starting up and the last to leave. As an example, Oil & Gas companies don't typically have anyone with 30+ years of continuous field experience on their staff but they better have someone who knows what they're doing on-site watching over contractors who are charging millions of dollars a month for their services. They need consultants.
^ Well said, HW!
Edit: I have 32 years field experience offshore and have watched so many staff guys come offshore for just a couple of years purely to get a job in the office. The result is a manager managing people in a job he knows virtually nothing about... but long may it continue as it's given me an enjoyable freelance career for many years. I never have to wear a suit (or even shave for that matter), can earn as much or as little as I need in a particular year and have a minimum of 6 to 7 months off a year. There are of course downsides, but not as big as being a 9 to 5 slave for an entire working lifetime.
HW... I've always associated a 'Virtuoso' with the music world... I have a sister who is a violinist and she often talks of virtuosos... I think, anyway. I don't listen that intently.
I've never taken you for an arty type?
Anyway, this is me.

In my opinion I have always preferred to use the term Specialist. What HW stated above the individual (s) are tenured professionals and invaluable as noted.
Consultants tend to sell something. In the tech sector they are mostly scam artists.
I meant no disrespect HW.
She's not going to have sex with you lads.
That'll be two of us then, to the point where I searched to see how or where the word might be used in other context.
Well don't start now because I know almost nothing about art and have absolutely no skills that could be applied to that field. You can see where my disregard for these sort of tests comes from..
Of course it depends on the industry and about a million other variables but yeah, anyone can call themselves a consultant. Being able to provide a real service for clients and take care of their best interests when they need solutions and guidance around major hurdles is a different story though. But to prove your point, I've met real estate time-share consultants before![]()
None taken Bud.
Check this fucker out...
He's spent the whole of his married life working 8000 miles away on an oil rig and when he does come back he's off riding solo in Bangkok on his debaucherous passport runs whilst his dog gets another mauling and the gardeners spraying pledge on his IKEA table
You are akin to these of the defending world..

^ Questionnaires don't lie mate.
Of course, I will never be a defender worthy of your team.
Anyway, I'm just gonna say Goodnight to my SEVEN dogs before going to bed.
Lol. You can start a thread on horoscopes & star signs, "Julie". I ain't going into that.
If you're referring to the "she" as me, then no I don't get PMs, nor am I asking for those. I'm not here to look for guys, since I'm already "attached". TD is just for fun & banter.
When there are more respondents, I'll put out my inner nerd and make some stats/ percentages, unless someone would like to do it.
Thanks to those who participated & for the banter. Cheers!![]()
Mine said, "You are a fantastic guy, innovative, brilliant intellect and brain the size of a planet. Thanks for the song about me.
Aparently Cyrille was a type CCCC-C![]()
Consultants are the bane of any enterprise, public or private sector, and if I had my way at the beginning of any project a so-called consultant would be strung up and left for the crows to peck at, as an example for all others when the project inevitably overruns, goes way over budget and ultimately crashes and burns.
To put it glibly, and if things do go well, hiring a consultant is paying someone to look at your watch to tell you the fucking time.
In every consultancy led project I have witnessed the outcome has been pretty well fucked up in some critical area or other. But when it came to take responsibility the fuckers would inevitably claim the data given to them was wrong even though in most cases the consultancy retrieved its own data through in- house placements but interpreted it wrongly or failed to model outcomes rooted in reality.
The problem of course derives from software development and its application which never fucking works in the way the snakeoil consultants promise but it doesn’t matter how watertight the contract might be, the fuckers always weasel out of it by citing some imagined variation in the client’s brief even though the original brief was already tendered as a draft to be confirmed by the successful fucking consultants as a working hypothesis capable of implementation to achieve the desired outcome.
Bunch of fucking tossers, the lot of ‘em.
^You're talking about the public service, who knows what fuckery goes on there wasting money and resources between a bunch of jobsworth nobodies but we can always be sure anything to with any Gov't getting something done efficiently, on time, safely, and on budget, will be a cluster fuck.
I'm talking about the Oil & Gas industry which is a completely different ballgame and one you've obviously never worked in. Give an Oil Co a producing well-head and they know exactly what to do with it from there. Everything up to that point, not so much. Some contractors they hire to do the field work will screw them royally and cut every corner possible given the slightest chance, more so if they're Chinese, and there's obscene amounts of money being spent per day so they'd better have someone who seriously knows what they're doing looking after their interests on-site because they sure as fuck don't have anyone in-house who can walk that walk.
You mention software and that and anything to do with IT is an industry that's full of extremely overpriced pretenders in my limited experience. We had 3 consultants setting up all the IT and computers for an Oil Co with interest in multiple African countries once and after about 2 months of nothing happening besides personal invoices with lots of zeros being submitted at the end of each month, the Oil Co was forced to hire a consultant to oversee the consultants. Nobody understands what the fuck those guys are doing, and that's just the way they like it.
Cool thread, katie! Lots of Defenders on TD.
I remember doing this test a long time ago when I was a Psych. major in university, at that time I was a ENFP (Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceptive), but doing this test I am,
Consul (ESFJ-A)
Personality type: Consul (ESFJ-A)
Traits: Extraverted – 54%, Observant – 58%, Feeling – 52%, Judging – 51%, Assertive – 58%
Role: Sentinel
Strategy: People Mastery
Makes some sense to me, but it isn't 100% accurate
Anyone have a decoder chart for these new terms that replaced:
Analytic
Expressive
Driver
Amiable
Thanks for those who've participated and for the interesting discussions. No poo-slinging, please.
So for the results, here are the 16 MBTI personalities and their percentages. There were 22 respondents to the survey.
ESTJ - Executive = 1/22 = 4.55% (Stumpy)
ESFJ - Consul = 1/22 = 4.55% (MarilynMonroe)
ESTP - Entrepreneur = 1/22 = 4.55% (ShyGuava)
ESFP - Entertainer = 0
ENTJ - Commander = 1/22 = 4.55% (SLandreth)
ENFJ - Protagonist = 0
ENTP - Debater = 0
ENFP - Campaigner = 2/22 = 9.09% (SariP, Mandaloopy)
ISTJ - Logistician = 1/22 = 4.55% (Simon43)
ISFJ - Defender = 5/22 = 22.73% (Storekeeper, Misskit, Norton, PAG, Mendip)
ISTP - Virtuoso = 2/22 = 9.09% (HappyNZ, Headworx)
ISFP - Adventurer = 2/22 = 9.09% (HappyAsLarry, Qwerty)
INTJ - Architect = 0
INFJ - Advocate = 3/22 = 13.64% (Troy, Malmomike, David44)
INTP - Logician = 1/22 = 4.55% (SeekingAsylum)
INFP - Mediator = 2/22 = 9.09% (Katie23, Prawnograph)
++++++
Highest: ISFJ (Defender) = 5/22 = 22.73%
2nd Highest: INFJ (Advocate) = 3/22 = 13.64%
Only two made to the top tier.
me and Seekingasylum

For the different parameters:
Extraversion (E) vs Introversion** (I)
E = 6/22 = 27.27%; I = 16/22 = 72.73%
Sensing** (S) vs Intuition (N)
S = 13/22 = 59.09%; N = 9/22 = 40.91%
Thinking (T) vs Feeling** (F)
T = 7/22 = 31.82%; F = 15/22 = 68.18%
Judging** (J) vs Prospecting (P)
J = 12/22 = 54.55%; P = 10/22 = 45.45%
++++
I didn't include the A (assertive) vs T (turbulent) functions since it's not really part of the MBTI; it's something that the 16 personalities dot com site added to their test. Other participants also did not indicate whether they had A or T results.
Assertive vs Turbulent measures the Neuroticism or how you handle or are affected stress; A is less affected, T is more affected by stress.
++++++
Cheers!
