Pool table depends on the size of the room, or how much space you want to dedicate to it.

Below with give you an indication of how much space it will take up for a player to take a comfortable shot from any position.

    • 7 foot table 13 x 16 feet minimum room size (156″ x 192″)
    • 8 foot table 13.6 x 17 feet minimum room size (162″ x 204″)
    • 9 foot table 14 x 18 feet minimum room size (168″ x 216″)

    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

I think the general consensus was zero feet for a pool table.

    • 7 foot table – 13 x 16 feet minimum room size (156″ x 192″)
    • 8 foot table – 13.6 x 17 feet minimum room size (162″ x 204″)
    • 9 foot table – 14 x 18 feet minimum room size (168″ x 216″)

The poolroom size is 197 inches x 253 inches so the 9 foot table should be the one.

Yes Topper. There will be no pool table in the main bar. It will be in the main house on the ground floor having air con and a separate bar.

Does a bar need to have a pool table? I think not as they are expensive to maintain and take up a lot of room.

Does live music or karaoke draw you to a bar or are music videos your preference?

If a bar has a swimming pool do you need to shower before and or after a swim?

    Question number 5.

Does a bar need to offer exotic drink cocktails on their drink menu?

Thanks in advance for your response and opinions.
Hi LT! I'm a little late to the thread, but can give my opinions if it isn't too late...

    1. Air conditioning a must unless it is an open air restaurant
    2. I think a pool table is a must as it can attract more people, and give people something to do.
    3. Live music and karaoke for my preference.
    4. I don't need a shower, but most public pools make you shower before you swim.
    5. I think exotic cocktails can draw a certain crowd in, like tourists or females.

I watch all kinds of things on youtube, and there is a youtuber called, Buzzin Pattaya, that often has interviews with current or former bar owners. This could be something to learn from perhaps. Here is a decent video on the topic. I'm sure there are more. Many closed during Covid, but this guy remains open.

I also saw the naturist (nudist) resort in Pattaya, I'm sure that one is making a killing! lol

Anyway, LT, I wish you all the best, I just thought this may be of interest to you, please disregard if it isn't. I'm sure you'll do well. And I may hit up that naturist resort someday, I'll look you up if I am in the area.

^ You're more then welcome as is other TD members.

Well we are still building, replacing roof tiles and mainly concentrating on the front shop.

We have also got a quotation for the artificial grass and it is almost 200,000.00 Baht but that includes installation and some base materials.

Oh, and based upon the very good advice received we are considering other business options including plastic product manufacturing, but we certainly will have an area for a few beers.

Customers are visiting our place daily to buy my wife's products, mainly Brits, and they all like the layout and pledge they will come and have a beer when we finally open the place.
