Lesbians and Gays are pretty well integrated into most societies, especially here in Thailand (though currently lack some of the legal rights of straight). Affecting feminine behaviour (aka 'mincing') and some lightly applied make up is a give away of Gays, though not always as many appear straight. The problem facing the community are trans. Many of us are from that generation that laughed at Danny La Rue and Dame Edna, i.e. figures of fun. Trans are still this to many. I would imagine that trans have difficulties in forming relationships, especially from the sex they're trying to morph into. This is where the impact of social media has brought the profile of the trans community to the fore. In the UK at least, it seems not a week goes by without some court case of someone being groomed and sexually assaulted by some trans pretending to be what they are not. That in turns to the frankly disgust amongst the population at large, and gives the notion of Trans more than a whiff of disgust and perverted.

The whole notion of individuals being able to just declare their sex and/or orientation from (in Scotland) the age of 16 is ludicrous. People should only be able to officially change their sex (i.e. from Mr to Ms or vice versa) once they have completed sex realignment surgery. Then anything related to them i.e. passport, driving licence etc is updated. Maybe they could have a new name title, what about 'Mx' Again, once official, then using what are single sex only facilities (i.e. toilets etc) there is no problem.

I think its a fair discussion. TC however doesn't like when people respond in a way that challenges his topics. So he uses terms like "Fear", "Go back to your Cave" etc. then spends time deflecting with using "Unfortunate generalizations"

The entire labeling thing is a way to get some notoriety. why people like being labeled is beyond me.

While I was in the states, I saw this entire movment to allow fat people to claim its a disease. Once that happens they will be yet another protected class and can claim their fatness on medical insurance. "Stop putting enough food to feed a family of 4 in your Godamn mouth and go out an exercise". We are so PC. Can't even call people fat anymore.
