My wife got these terrible mom jean shorts. I am going to throw them in the garbage can when she's not looking

And yes, mom jeans or boyfriend jeans are a thing now. They're even more "in" now than last year. I see more teens/ 20s gals wearing them. Usually they are paired with crop tops (if the gal is slim or brave enough to show her midriff). If not, then they just tuck the shirt in.

They can also be made of non-jean material, like cotton or a cotton-polyester mix. Good for them! Skinny jeans are not good for blood circulation.

I have mom jeans, skinny jeans & in-between jeans. Most of the time, I wear the in-betweens.

I’d go as far as to say that skinny jeans are the new mom jeans.

I wear all styles also, Katie, though skinny jeans are murder in hot weather.

I agree. The young gals around me (teens to 20s) wear mom jeans while the older ones (30s to 40s, mom or non-mom) are the ones wearing skinny jeans.

And yes, skinny jeans are hell during hot weather!

I also see some gals wear culottes nowadays but not knee-high, kinda like mid-shin. Two or 3 years ago, "candy pants" were also in. Candy pants are loose cotton pants which are a bit tapered. They're light & good for travelling/ sightseeing. I saw some ladies wearing them in Israel (from Bettyboo's tgread). I have a couple of those too, as well as the hated elephant pants.
