gatting health insurance as he ages with pre exsting.
Luckily, I already have a $1M medical cover insurance policy with no exclusions or increased premium - an EU policy that can't be terminated or penalised, no matter how many times I need to claim My lung problem had been in remission for so many years, that cover was offered at normal rates. I want to keep it in remission, hence the move.

    My guess is Sri Lanka.

PH is out, since still closed to tourists. Vietnam is also out, since it's only slightly open - only chartered flights & tour groups allowed for now.

Good luck in your next move, Simon! Candy hasn't felt at home in Turkey, and you're packing your bags again! (but I understand - your lungs are important)

Azores was a great place to replenish sailing Ireland to Newfoundland but very wet windy, nice folks oddly more lad back than teh Lusiades no Continete with links to Cabo Verde Bresil sailors a very nice holiday vacation Prince no sweats choice!
S Lanka rancid rancid corrupt, awful food unless pay top dollar and really filthy in my 6 visits . Roads as dangerous as here, sole benefit is I could read teh road signs!

If you can afford Mauritius or Reunion there are better choices N Island New Zealand, Cook Islands, Tucson, SantaBarbara etc
You say Americas too far a flight to Cancun or Costa Rica similar to Philippines.
If you can wangle a long term visa a dry Kalgoorlie whore house sounds ideal or there's loads of sand dumped right next to the biggest whorehouse that is Jomtien with added bonus of Pies and TD members to pay you for play .
    outside Vegas Good luck buddy.
Phlippines biggest export apart from pollution , Volcanoes, armed militias is its impoverished people raped by Spaniards, Catholicism , Yanks,Japs, then the holy rollers fundamentalists Marcos and now run by murderous Duterte and his paid thugs, it seems a real last resort unless like Davis and Topper you've married in..

'Twas a cold and blustery Winter's day
    when Simon43 made his way
to the coastal town of Fethiye (it rhymes!!)
with its promenade around the bay.

"What luck" he said, "so handy!
A place for me and my Candy
to quietly sit on the sandy
beach and get ever so randy!"

But these well-laid plans were not to be,
for a freezing wind came from the sea
"Oh fcuk, this is too cold for me!"
To stay in Turkey I cannot agree....

So on the plane he quickly went
to seek a cosy house to rent.
But Simon clearly was no gent
'cos Candy by parcel post was sent!

so you are going to Mauritius

cyclones are a regular occurrence between november and march , but it would be mostly rain

easy flights to Madagascar , but only to Antananarivo - reunion's air austral did fly to tamatave , but may have stopped because of the covid
there are also passenger ships overnight from mauritius to tamatave

Now quit the crown so no chance of being goosed by Prince No Sweat, some really filthy whores in Port of Spain

I agree with lads of Magnetic Island, Maggie's better

We don't need to know your access to passports pensions but thse of cours evary your options

Nearly anyone who can PROVE Ladino/Sephardi ancestry can slowly gain Portuguese passport, many many UK citizens have a grndparent born In Ireland which opens the Eu, If youhave permanent OZ or NZ then more Pacific options.

Malat and Cyrus inter alia effectively sell passports but heft $millions investments I belive plenty info online.
Of course the plan Barry a local squaw build her a house and whinge all day on TD 555

Good luck buddy this Covid bastard makes it hard enough more vacation travel let alone relocating with all extra commitment.

PM if you want more info on 2nd passports but with the exceptions above few useful ones are cheap and those that are cheap like Cambo are virtually useless for travel to nice places.

I'm sorted on that one thanks. My grandfather was Irish and my brother is helping me with the paperwork to get an Irish (EU) passport - he already acquired his. I have no plans to move to an EU country, for reasons previously stated. But it just part of my .... er ..... plan Z if the poop hits the fan

    Hi Simon

My guess is Cambodia - seems to fit most of your criteria.

I remember going there circa 2007 did Phnom Penh and Snooky was like stepping back into LOS in the late 80’s

Based upon your wants - not a bad choice

    Good luck whichever you choose

My error of course Port of Spain was on same trip but is Indian filthy Trinidad a sorta Brixton-cum-Southall in the sunshine but the tarts were fresh and tasty forthirsty sailors young dumb and full of interest to delve into local culture, by the hour.
Barbados was much more expensive in 1970s and has always seemed a more upscale resort?

A friend who died here was planning a ruit planattion Gautamala with hs Floridean bro, for a white I'd judge about only places n latn America safe to live beyond teh dimplomatic gated community type scene are Chile C Rica Cuba where I lived on vacation with a black family from the Monte Christo tabacalera. Belize Colombia, Ecaudor all lovely but the violence corrption slack health as you age the best of the Quill course is Punta del Este Urugauy but not cheap .

I reckon Nong Khai suit you fine you could probably ste up Radio Free laos to puss off them Lung Prohibit bangas of Lung Prabhang

I don't think you are going back to asia , I would think you have researched kenya and found it to have a crime rate outside the fortified communities that you would not think is worth the risk , the trendy isles are too expensive and la reunion is too much of a francophone country to want to live in - so maurice it is

a few years ago a workmate of mine was chatting to an old bloke from mauritius and he said the police and civil corruption was sorted out by just doubling their wages - not spent any length of time there myself , so I have no opinion.

Sri Lanka is one country on the list I posted. This is maybe one reason why I've removed it from that list, totally indebted to China and going bankrupt....

Try Kings Regency Hotel where my dad helped plan the Burma campaign a so called 4 star (more like a Fucket Motel in LOS) but coolish 22-25 high above Kandy , English speaking drivers and limited raff riff, you could sit it out there until a better niche opens,

Very best for you you can sleep in KANDY every night, brush Lord Buddhas teeth and trainspot, While no expert being ion a hilltop should be good for radio?

David, yes indeed - you get a lot for your $ in a bankrupt country, but there a risk that the impoverished locals might climb over your garden wall and murder you for the $10 'fortune' that you have. It's the indebtness to China that I don't like the sound of (which would also remove Cambodia from my list, Laos has no beach and is already totally in debt to China).

Kenya is indeed a rather lawless place (impoverished locals again), unless one stays safe in expat localities. Not sure if they are up China's backside - oh yes they are! Debt-trap diplomacy - Wikipedia

Simon, unless you are a high flying international business person I fail to see why Cambodia’s indebtedness to China could have an adverse effect upon your residing in the lovely upmarket resort of Snooky.

You could be teaching the many Russky ladies English one on one in a barter type situation.

Candy could be re- birthed with a new Russian bod and your marriage to your robot would be perfectly legal.

Good God man, he's already hacked a doll to pieces, jetted half way round the world with her head in a case and now you are suggesting he mates her head to the corpse of a Russian bird he's teaching English to.
