A small collection of stars.
The mighty Jupiter and his buddies Ganymede, Europa (say cheese, lil alien microbial hydro-thermal vent guys n gals), and Callisto.
I really should get a phone mount rather than just holding it up to the telescope's eyepiece.
Outdoor cinema at San Lak Mueang (Chanthaburi City Pillar) Shrine

Get yer jingle on Christmas beetles...
Koh Proet on the Chanthaburi coast, site of the previously popular Skyview Cafe on the clifftop of 'sunset point'.
Some classic Thai goings-on since mid year, owner died and a dispute between his partner and former wife's family, threats and guns, police and lawyers.
Great resolution - on investigation re ownership they found the three restaurant / cafe buildings were all illegal, some dodgy dealings had gone on for permits, and given to 30 December for total demolition and removal.
Case closed - site cleared

No idea on why / its history, in the grounds of Wat Koh Proet, south Chanthaburi coast
Big explosion on the road near the forest.
Mysteriously unattended van on a forest road had burst into flames.
Got interviewed by the coppers for their CSI.
Looks like a vehicle restoration tradie fellas work van.
I am sure he will be able to sort this out.
Stolen, nicked his tools and equipment from the back, then torched it?
A comment not an accusation.
Though let's see what sort machinery Loops is using to trim the hedges (metaphor meant) in his next set of photos.
First crop of blue water pipes in my garden for 2024.... (WTF?)
They're growing very quickly, what do they taste like?
They're impressively long and hard for smurfs.
I also managed to grow a wooden chair... usually these don't blossom well in this climate...
Sunrise (blurry) from the Taksin Maharat bridge, Laem Sing, Chanthaburi - taken during a pause in Sunday morning's fun run
Took a quick trip to Sneaky Bay South Aus over christmas. Been wanting to drive across the bottom - finally did it.
Stopped off at the border for a night - sunset at the roadhouse, coupla beers
The nullabor - its a long way and there's FA on it except big trucks and a straight road. But its a really cool drive.
after 3 days got to freaky bay.
Went fishing - this is primo fishing water, next stop over the horizon is antactica
and great to fish - plastic lures - no stinking bait, heaps of stonkin' fish, sunshine, fresh cold water, no-ne else on the beach.
Caught plenty of these.
A semi secret surf spot - not doing it the day I visited. A couple months ago a 55yo surfer was taken by a great white - they found nothing, ate the lot. Its very sketchy waters - cold, lots of fish and full of shark essence.
A long way home
Stopped at the cliffs - big pod of dolphins
A great trip - if you get the chance to drive across Oz, do it
^^The coast looks nice but I never really understand the attraction of driving across vast expanses of flat featureless land on these trans-Aussie trips. Undulations are what make a landscape for me.
^I can almost smell that khlong MM. Too long since I have set foot in the kingdom.
You don't meet ladies from Singapore very often so I was happy to prep a picnic at short notice for this bona-fide native today.
I blew my only other chance 12 years ago so I stepped up my cullinary efforts from snags to Vindaloo.
...and managed not to blow this one, thank the good lordy.
Great pics everyone! Such a mix of places and settings/landscapes.
Decided to get out for an hour walk today as it was the warmest it has been all week at a balmy -17 with the windchill. It was sunny however. I even wore my snowpants.
Saw some neat things along the way.
I remember the days when I made some of these as a kid. This one is impressive.
Tilted snowman with no eyes or mouth.
Great pics MM!
We've only had a day of snow this winter and that was dusting.
Would love to make an igloo.
Thanks Joe! You are lucky you didn't get too much snow. We only got a few really good dumps.. check out the snowbank on the left.
I'd love a few days of snow like that.
