But I likes me possum
The most northerly tip of mainland Europe... that finger of rock to the west of Nordkapp (North Cape).
That's beginning to look a bit cold and grim, Mendy. How's your filipino cabin girl?
Well... she's not really 'mine' and the correct term is 'stewardess' rather than 'cabin girl', but if it's the one I think you mean then yes, she's doing just fine!
In fact after doing a 12 week trip on this boat last year the Filipinos have a new found respect for me... most Westerners only do 4 week trips, or only 2 weeks if you're a Norwegian.
She even saved me a portion of apple crumble with custard from the evening meal yesterday which just went down nicely with breakfast.
Yep, I'm on nights again.
That would be quite an escalation Shutree.
But to be fair the apple crumble was very good...
I wish I'd got a photo for the Pudding thread now.
Snapped this yesterday, absolutely superb shot by my usually atrocious point 'n click standards:
A sign of Spring, picked these up yesterday.
That apple thing is weird.
Tree climbing, marsupial racoons maybe MM! Like a lot of Australian wildlife, they don't have a great fear of humans. They are pretty invasive buggers though- eating fruit off your trees (and helping themself to dry catfood!), sometimes setting up shop in your roof, and they are quite common- especially in rural areas. So as willy said, a lot of aussies consider them vermin- and shoot them, sob. I'm told they are good to eat too- certainly our indigenous folk don't mind a nice possum for dinner. Are they like racoons?
In central Sydney, Darlinghurst, there was a venue called The Different Drummer (long gone, we're talking around 1990) with quite a locally famous possum- it used to come down every night from it's tree in the courtyard, close to midnight, cruise around the tables and get fed by the patrons! Totally tame- it would even hop on your lap.
^Racoons can climb trees too.. these vermin sounds very much like racoons.. Racoons will get in your tents and eat your food.. a real nuisance. Racoons won't normally come close to people though like possums. Racoons can be vicious if they are cornered.
You are going to fall off the earth soon.. haha. Must be cold out there?
This kinda reminds me of the time I shot a wombat, directly in it's asshole from about 200 yards.
1 shot, 1 asshole that day.
Waragul, south of Melbourne, half way to Sail.
Why shoot a wombat? They just eat, roots, shoots & leaves. Like a bogan.
If you just took the time to double click and then post your photos would look a lot nicer.
