I need to watch this topic closely. I have until 11pm tomorrow to cancel our hotel in Pattaya free of charge. Booked into the 5* Centara Grand Mirage with family room and breakfast for 20k including vat etc. 4 nights from Boxing day. Sounds like they will make a lockdown decision on the 28th in time for new year and I don't wanna be stuck away from home with the Mrs and 2 kids.
Probably have to eat the 4k I spent on flights tho.
Lang may yer lum reek...
If that was all I had I’d probably ration it out over 3 nights. 8 big cans and a bottle of wine each night.
last time I just used my bar stock, starting with the first to go out of date.
Ruh roh. Chiang Mai, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkran, and Samut Sakon all locked down. Expect more.
^ Upon further inspection, Chiang Mai has only three districts up in the boonies on lockdown, Mai Ai, Tha Ton, and Malika.
^ Samut Prakan has only shut down the snooker halls, cock-fighting venues, Muay Thai, etc...
Booze ban mercifully not happening this time, but only if it is 17% or below. That's fine, I'm not a big spirit drinker.
Sittin here in Nong Khai. No lockdown but feeling sorry for the shop, hotel and resturant owners on walking street. Most closed down or barely holding on with only a few customers. Bloody shame. Most will never recover.
^ Is it as bad in Udon? (I read somewhere you were visiting over Christmas)

Four provinces in lockdown against Covid-19
December 24, 2020 Songpol Kaopatumtip
Due to the latest spreading of Covid-19, the following provinces have imposed new measures:-
● Samut Sakhon has imposed strict disease controls from Dec 19, 2020 to January 3, 2021by shutting the shrimp market and Si Muang Apartment. Sport complexes, boxing arenas, children playgrounds, education institutes, and child care services are temporarily closed. Food shops can provide only take-home service. Convenience stores will be closed from 22.00 to 05.00 hours.
● Samut Songkram will close a number of schools and institutes, child development centers, service centers, games stores, karaoke houses, cock and fighting-fish arenas, movie houses, spas and massage parlors, markets (except for those that provide fresh and dry food, cooked food, medicine, animal food and other necessities.)
● Samut Prakan has already announced measures to control the spread of Covid-19 during Dec 23, 2020 and Jan 4, 2021. Government and private schools, child development centers and schools for the elderly in Phra Smutjaedi and Phra Pradaeng will be temporarily closed. Pubs and bars as well as karaoke will provide only food with no dancing. New Year celebrations are cancelled.
● Chiang Mai has announced measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by restricting the travel of people in Tatorn, Malika and Mae Ai sub-districts.

Think we have a "lockdown" definition issue here.

I cancelled my booking then when the no lockdown notice came out I rebooked it and saved myself 1,000 baht.
I'm not particularly worried about covid, it was about getting stuck away from home with my family. No intention to leave the resort until we head home.
28th is the date I heard, for the gov to effectively ban nye mass gatherings by imposing and extending lockdowns.
Makes sense, but that's also a logical reason to believe it won't happen.
"Not more than 10 people with an ability to control the situation."
"Nakhon Ratchasima"
Hmmm.... This strikes me as being somewhat naive.
