You should post a bit more about this on a few different threads. I don't think peak attention has quite been reached yet, MM.

    Our daily cheer - yesterday.

MrsP had a call last evening to say she'd won 4th prize in a school raffle, there's an LG 50" TV headed our way.
It can replace the 43" which can replace the 32" which can be given away.
There was a hopeful effort from daughters suggesting they could clear wall space in their room for the new one.
Nice try. It already looks like an overcrowded refugee camp in there, and a tv not conducive to uni studies,

    Raffles #2.
January she 'won' a new Honda Wave 125 on behalf of the business at an event they sponsored, but didn't get to keep it as tickets were bought on behalf of company owners; instead it's going into the pool of lucky number prizes for staff at Songkran.
I expect we'll get yet another Hatari fan.

I'm on March Break a one week holiday! Feel so great and relaxed. Heading to a spa in a few days for a relax and massage.
Also, happy to have finally opened up an RRSP and some investing for my future.

    ^Nice.

I got a last minute dentist appointment today and some antibiotics for my toothache, it's been a long painful weekend but there's light at the end of the tunnel on the pain front.

    Thanks.

    Slightly better today.

The dentist clinics in this country are overrun and really busy at the moment still catching up with the covid backlog.

^cool that you feel a bit better. I’m at the dentist right now waiting. My benefits finally kicked in. I have to work at least 60 days on salary to get it. I may only have 3 weeks to use it if my job doesn’t continue after March.

^Not for dental, and people still pay for things like prescriptions, massages, etc. Dental care is extremely expensive here if you don’t have it covered or most of it covered you pay a fortune.

Been without a fridge and freezer for nearly 3 weeks now.
Rang up Haier Hoover Candy when it broke down, they gave me 2 options... pay 130 quid and they'll send an engineer out to fix it or pay 18 quid a month for a year to their other company Domestic and General and if their engineer can't fix it they'll replace it.

So he came round, couldn't fix it and said it wasn't the condenser and ordered a new control panel and something else. 2 weeks later I got a mail saying they couldn't get the part and that they will replace the fridge and sent a list of all the replacements.

It's an 83cm American style one with a shit energy rating that I had before and only cost 450 quid in a sale but the replacements they offered were all F energy rated 50-60cm 250-300 quid Candy shite. So I had a little complain and mentioned legal advice and going to the ombudsman.

Then all of a sudden this 91cm appeared on their list of replacements...

    And will arrive Friday...Result

And the best thing is, because it's been replaced that year contract gets cancelled immediately so it cost me just 18 quid. Lovely

It's amazing the reaction you get when you talk about "escalating" things.

We were stuck without any kind of A/C in August last year on a train from Euston to Piccadilly for 2 and a half hours. It was fucking hanging with people dripping in sweat. Even the ticket collector was saying they had known about the issue for 2 weeks, but the moneygrabbing kunts at Avanti were still running the two affected carriages.

I got in touch with them and they said they were "unable to offer any kind of refund in this instance."

I replied that this was unacceptable, mentioned recent media coverage of their performance and told them that my only option was to take it higher or even go public.

Hey Presto! A reply within minutes offering fifty percent off 4 Avanti West Coast tickets to be used within the next 12 months.

    That's great, congrats!

Happy to hear today that I don't owe the government any tax from last year. That is a first, as I normally owe.
I am supposed to get a refund of 14.50$ lol.. can't buy much with that amount.
