Decided to have a Monday lie in, so got out of bed at 1:30pm.
Bowl of fruit loops for lunch.
My VOLT Metro LS in sexy black came today at an equally sexy 40% off - now, its a folding bike and some unkindly have said its a clowns bike but i don't know many clowns that paid £1,600 for theirs fuk you Ronald
1600 for a push iron?
Respect!
Yep, fuck Ronaldo.
But my cheer is something else.
When Thai woman come to the West, if they decide to work, many are employed as Hotel Maids/Stewardess, Thai Kitchen hands or a massage parlor (not necessarily the happy ending style).
My personal experience is that few actually make it into mainstream employment.
My other half worked as a Team Manager in Bangkok, dealt with International companies and has a Business Degree (Management/Accountancy)

Coming to the West she first studied English at College, about 600 hours.
Started working as a Kitchen Hand in a Thai Restaurant. We spent years working on her vocab and pronunciations ... grammar came last.
She studied more and more at College in the Medical stream, eventually qualifying as an AIN - Assistant in Nursing a second stream in Allied Health, specializing in Physiotherapy.
Got a Job taking care of the Elderly in their home, but it was a Gig job, somethins lot's of cleaning ... hours changed from week to week and never anything approaching Full-Time.
Indicative image only
FINALLY, she just got offered a 'real' job as an AIN in a Nursing Home.
After a few years her next goal is to train as a 'lifestyle coordinator' ... that bright bubbly person in a Nursing Home who leads the Residents in exercise programs and general entertainment.
Well done sunshine ... you've made the Family proud.
Nice to hear of a success story, especially the determination required for a non Australian to make it in such an environment.
While I have never visited the country, my expectations for her might be tempered by any casual racism she encountered?
Good to know that the many hardships encountered starting at the bottom of the food chain can be overcome by someone strong willed, combined with a healthy dose of spousal support.
You are now officially on call to counsel LD on where it all went so wrong.
Roti stall man in a food court has started doing potato and chicken samosa. Big fudgers too.
10 baht each, 6 for 50 baht.
Picked up a dozen of those badboy for a pinky.
The first really nice day in months and months - cool temp overnight and now a lovely 21 and cloudy/sunny . . . mowed the lawn, started prepping the pool for 'summer' . . . and waiting for the coming rainy weeks and cold snaps to bring me down to earth.
But for now! Sun!!!!
Ok, change that . . .
I went from Blond to a redhead and getting lots of compliments.
Redheads rule!
Mate, no problems.
Couple of things. Australia has slowly become more 'Asianfied' as more of Their neighbours migrate there.
What separates Australia from say GB or the USA is that, until recently (in the Cities) there have been few, if any 'Black people'.
The near full blood Aborigines mostly live 'on Country' or in isolated pockets like Cherbourg. Redfern in Sydney is unique.
Recently, with the influx of refugees from the South Sudan and the ilk, occasionally are to been seen, but rarely.
My observations are based on a moderate sized City.
You know sometimes you have the odd bad day, not catastrophic, just niggling.
Well, i don't usually tune into the news but i must say during my extended sojourn in the NW...soon to end i might add, i have taken to cheering myself up by watching the NorfWest News programme at 18.30. It is a half hour of unremittingly depressing news stories that is the life of the down trodden Norverner. I can see why Dill and Hal jumped ship and got the hell out of dodge and why Chitty has created his sensory deprivation shed. Having said that, the news is then capped off by the weather, equally unrelentingly depressing with the words, dull, overcast, cold and wet featuring large but delivered by the most camp welsh weather bloke you'll ever see, as ray of gayness in the greyness.
The cheer here is that just a mere 30 minutes a night of this programme is akin to a session under a UV light for a SAD sufferer, its genuinely uplifting in resetting your mood vis what a shit time others are having. I may see if I can get it on BBC I-player once I decamp south again.
I had a surprise visit from the Grand Master of Rugby in Thailand, Jim Howard, yesterday.
He was interested in my man cave project and gave me his approval with a "both thumbs up" stance.
He also asked me if the Pattaya Panthers Rugby team can visit and I welcome Jim and his team at their leisure.
A Robin Redbreast came to say hello in the garden this morning after another horrendous nights sleep on the wagon.
He comes once a year and always brings a smile to my face.
Btw Nammers you need an indestructible sense of humour to survive oop north.
