they cannot shut down td, they can try to block it from ppl in Thailand to access it.

TD is not hosted within Thailand then.
So if they do block TD will you include a get around in the weekly email.
Yahoo by the way has started dumping the weekly email into my junk mail folder all on its own.
Me too, as does Gmail.Originally Posted by mrsquirrel

i think next week we shall start doing some tutorials on how to use proxies and stuff, because if they do ban 800,000 sites then there will be a lot of ppl affected by this, ie pooly wont be able to view most of the stuff on his favourites folder![]()

Oh dear we got an emoticon abuser in the house.
I know I'm foolish on occasion....who isn't???
Do you reckon they'll boot Webwarper at some point?
Has he shut down ajarn already? Can't get it today...
^ Same mate (and as I assume you're in the UK Laoshi it shouldn't effect you any way mate).
Cheers Ken. Yeah got in eventually. So Taxi is going to filter ISP's or something is he? I thought it was a shutdown of Thai based sites?...
I think it's more blocking them from within Thailand.....DD??? I mean if the site is based in the States he can't close it down per se, but he can stop you (or try to) getting to it from here???
Don't really know to be honest![]()
Very simple. If your host's in the states, Toxin can only restrict users from accessing these website.
Now PM me if you want to learn about proxy servers!![]()
Lessee, Theres what? Maybe 6 diferent proxy clusters between the World and Thailand? Now, the loading of a site is gonna have to be slow as fuck... Real interested in seeing how he's gonna block the traffic. If the sites are blocked in realtime at the proxies based on HTTP headers the run through a database with 800,000 entries is gonna bog down traffic like a motherfucker, we'll all be gettin server timeout messages regularly.
Many sites (XXX and otherwise) are on shared IP's So I figure the lowest overhead way of filtering these sites is to just exclude them from all DNS databases here, what If I set up my Own DNS server and pointed it to a authoritive DNS server in the world?
I've tried to think of a way to block this traffic; while it's doable its gonna require a lot of processor to be effective. I remember coupla years ago the only pipe out of Thailand shut down for a day or two. Do we have multiple pipes out now? What kind of money are they willing to put into this?
I know that Myanmar does this on a much more granular scale, to the point of censoring emails, but then Myanmar is hardly tryin' to be a member of the world society is it?
What about news groups? Like alt.binaries.whatever.perverted.shit.you.want?
I know that educating the masses will create a darth of folks willng to work for $3 a day thus ruining the the attraction for companies wishing to bring low-cost manufacturing plants here. Or folks willing to swab his toilet for llittle more than bed and board but fuck, that's what the Burmese are for ain't they? Chinese are locking up tha market anyway.
If the dudes serious about taking down the ease with witch the population can be influenced by smut and/or radical press, there is only one fucking way. EDUCATION. Allowing folks to think for themselves. Blocking pictures of Pussy and sex is just fuckin' useless.
An educated and informed populace capable of critical thinking is a danger to the dude's pocket book and his dictatorial grip on the nation. So more hooraw and fanfare; "see i'm fixing things ain't I?"

The above link should answer your question.![]()
Nice Post Frankie but it just flew over me head.![]()
*macha's an IT illiterate*![]()
Jeezzzz Xzyte..... is there any simpler map for IT illiterate people?![]()
It is actually quiet simple to read it if you know that there are basically 2 networks running in Thailand.Originally Posted by Macha
1st. The "NIX" which handles all the national traffic in Thailand.
2nd. The "IIG" which handles all the international traffic.
So you can see what kind of connection your ISP has currently to "IIG" and also see all the connections which "IIG" has to the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and so on.
Wowwwww Xzyte ..... Its crystal clear now. Thanx mate.![]()
Isn't this old news? Half the links in my favourites list don't deliver me to the promised lovely brown girls with perfect knockers and no knickers. Instead I get some poxy Thai Police "Aleart" (sic) page which says they've "closed" the website for inappropriateness. Go on, try it yourself with www.88square.com.![]()
The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.
That is for IT illiterates man!
Xzyte, Thanks! interesting. If I am assuming correctly (the map is not that detailed0 There is still only one pipe in, IIG now if the role NIX plays is out only or internal shuttling... If they are duplex routing clusters and can shuttle traffic in/out this gets interesting.... By looking at the map legend IIG is our main pipe in/out. The role NIX plays appears to be internal (from the legend)
Have sniffer, will travel
Might take a few days but could be fun.
If IIG is our sole route in. It would be relatively simple to bring this country to it's fuckin' knees. hell, even with both fully open...
Uh, purely academic, ya'll understand.
I think it's been going on for at least a year or so BB.
They shut a few proxy sites down around the same time.
