Vacant brain looking for some content, and somewhere to exploit the locals in a true English way.
You'd think Lulu would know that, getting deported from the place for running away from tarmacing contracts
Think that you'll find Portugal, though obviously Western, would tick most of your boxes.

Utopia. Heard it's very nice.
its got so expensive in the north of england that curry can be ordered sans meat just rice and gravy, staggering considering you could buy a village like leeds if you sold your chelsea mews house only 15 years ago.
Chas, i think you need to lay down more parameters e.g. healthcare avalability, cost of living, ease of visa regs, chang availability, urban vs rural etc
Budapest? A city in a fine country and has pretty much everything you could desire. Winters are mild imo, but I'm a bit bias when it comes to the matter of harsh winters.
^WTF are you talking about.? Outside any Greggs outlet you'll find sterling examples of stunning womanhood in abundance. Probably same as darn sarf, only not sipping at a Shandy.
^ & how many pies are they stuffing into their gobs???
Korea is not bad, the cost of living is higher than Thailand, but wages are similar to the Middle East nowadays (depending on what you're doing), healthcare and dental is very good and insurance is reasonably priced.
Food is similar price to the UK, but eating out is half the cost (or less) of the UK.
Transportation is far better than the UK and a third (or less) of the price.
Long drinking hours, beautiful women, non-aggressive people.
Buying property isn't cheap.
After a month's working, expendable cash is a lot higher than the UK (and 90% of jobs in Thailand); I have 2 or 3 quite nice holidays a year, buy all the new stuff I like and still save some money in the bank every month. Cheap flights/ferrys to many interesting places.
Food is average.
Ease of life is very easy.
You'd probably need to be on a $100,000+ UK/US job to have an equal quality of life in Korea as a $35,000-50,000 job here.
Korea's not amazing, but it's pretty decent. If I was thinking of a better place to live than here, it'd be tricky. I rarely visit the house in Thailand. Been to the UK twice in 20 years (short trips, less than a week).
It's becoming increasingly international, so various job opportunities are opening up for non-Koreans.
Cycling should be banned!!!
That's interesting to know, Bettyboo, good info. Toying with Korea after this contract, but also little reason to leave Mongolia. The pollution in winter is the only major thing that springs to mind.
