My OP was a piss take, of course.

Happy 4th of July to all the Septics on here.

I lived there for 6 months as was warmly greeted and accepted by all who I met.

The USA is an amazing, visually splendid country full of some really great people.

In 6 months, I didn't get to see it all but discovered many places I could comfortably call home.
(Except LA ... didn't grab me).

State wise, California and Colorado are 2 States I could thrive in.

Happy 4th of July you lot.

    God bless America

Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

^Honeymoon period. I felt the same about my first six months in Thailand.

I do love my country (USA), but I still see the problems here.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed your time here. And I feel the same about L.A.

America, love it or leave it! I haven't left yet and that says a lot right there.

The best 4th of july celebration I recall was in 1976. She was 200 years old. I was just a pup riding in the back of my old mans 1926 model T ford. We were throwing out candy to the folks watching the parade then we parked in fireman's park and later on we watched the fireworks.

PS. I have that tune on a 45, also have Snoopy vs the Red Barron. My old man had them on the old Rockola Juke box. Reminds me of Happy Days. Cheers to all us seppos out there. Happy 4th of July.

Yup Folks, Happy Fourth, let's celebrate...

Ohio man fatally struck in chest by exploding firework in front of neighborhood children

    ALEX LASKER, AOL.COM Jul 5th 2019 1:49PM

Floyd Temple, 61, was setting off an array of fireworks around 12:30 a.m. in his front yard when a large mortar tipped over and exploded, striking him in the chest and killing him instantly, according to Sterling Rahe, a spokesman for the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department.

Police responding to a call about someone lighting fireworks in the neighborhood arrived to find rescue crews who had already declared Temple dead at the scene.

Neighbor Rick Tuggle told WTOL-TV that multiple children were watching Temple's fireworks display when the accident took place.

"It went off and his chest exploded, and [the kids] ran over to my house and told me about it," he recalled. "They're probably traumatized right now. They were sitting right there on the stairs when it happened. One of my kids was sitting right there on those stairs."

Setting off fireworks is illegal in Ohio and can be grounds for arrest, Lt. Kevan Toney, spokesman for the Toledo Police Department, told the Blade.

"Our biggest concern is the safety of the residents in Toledo," he said.

An estimated 9,100 fireworks-related injuries were treated in U.S. hospitals over the course of 2018, with at least five fatalities caused by the explosives, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Of those injuries, the CPSC found that an estimated 5,600 occurred in the one-month period between June 22 and July 22. Nearly half were to individuals younger than 20 years old.

The commission has provided a list of tips and additional resources to help prevent fireworks-related injuries and deaths.

^ What I'll never understand is why are they legal to sell but not to set off? Fireworks selling stands pop up all over the land just before the 4th.

    Crazy...

So, thanks to Trump's war on the Chinese imports, it will reduce the fatalities...

If you blokes had stayed in the commonwealth you'd all be dining on Bombay curry and japatis instead of Tacos.

    An inspiration to George Michaelos.

“We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends,” she said. “And Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we’re all talking and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’”

An inspiration to racists and wife beaters all over the world...
    Cycling should be banned!!!
