Oh! Too late! - I'm already bonkas!
Yes, I know you knew that already ...
Seliousry, how is everyone?
Hope everyone is well.
I rarely use internet forums these days .... think I got burnt out with all of that when I was operating a bunch of airbnb apartments in Tokyo a couple of years ago. Constantly emailing and messaging made me really get sick of screen time.
I still pop into the site now and then. Usually to check the news room and sometimes the lounge, though it's a bit like going back to watch a sporting team you once followed, but find it hard to take interest in because you don't know the players. I hope you are all playing nice and fair. Wally says it's nice to be nice.
I haven't just dropped in here by chance. I had a look around but it seems the old tech forum is gone --- unless I missed it ?
I came back to live on the Gold Coast almost 2 years for the first time in 25 years ago . It's beautiful here. But who am I kidding. I love Asia and I am now making plans to go back to good ol' Nippon.
For the past year or so I have been working on a children's book. It's a tribute to the owner of the kindergarten where I taught part time from 1995 - 2016 (on and off) . Sadly, he passed away in 2016.
This is a site that I made for the book: MISTER KUSHIDA BOOKS - Home
The reason I have come to you good teakdoorers, is to help me with a technical issue that is driving me absolutely bonkas.
I am self publishing the book on amazon. I have uploaded the ebook but I am getting errors on the pdf file for printing.
I only have photoshop and the apple software 'pages' to save pdf files . In photoshop, the book pages go to the top right corner (not centered) and the file I have just tried to upload saved in pages is strange - half of the book is fine and has no errors and half has errors - so the amazon software cannot print. I have been making phone calls and emailing support but they are useless.
I have chosen the 8.5" x 8.5" book size and as far as I know, I don't need a bleed if I save it as a pdf? If I need to add bleeds or margins, what are they?
This is literally the final step to get the book on paperback and I have been stuck on this step of uploading the pdf for print for a week now. Some numpty just emailed me from amazon support - the fourth person in four days. Todd told me I have errors and need to fix them. That's what the support person told me yesterday before dissapearing. I'm sure I won't hear back from Todd either ....
