Scampy we need your help !

A great chance to branch out into Investigative Journalism and broaden your Video C/V.
You're the man in the news hot spot at the moment, being on Koh Tao for the next few days.
So you could sort out the Days of our Lives mini drama that is now unfolding in the MKP's.
Not a lot of research needed ,it's all here in blue and white, a few hours of in- your- face interviews ,a quick stop over in Koh Phangan on the way back to balance the other side of the story and Bobs your uncle. Might even land a cushy job with 60 seconds or whoever.
If you've got the talent you might as well use it.And it could save all of us another 200 post of slagging.

    Have you been slagging, GusG?

Oh, I forgot. I think Scamps was on a mission on Koh Tao, but the director lost the plot.

Wish I was down there, a few on the spot interviews with Mick and co. would be awesome. C'mon Scamp, let's see if you can walk the walk after all.

    I hope I won't need a camcorder - I left mine in Bangkok because it's on it's last legs.

I think you'll need your camcorder.

All that filming opportunity on Koh Tao missed Scamp, better get that camera used until it's got no legs.

I gave it to a British neighbour with a handicapped child so he could get some memories down, I said I'd knock up a DVD for him when I got back.

I've ordered some money from my fund to get a new camera and to live as I am down to my last 1,000 baht - no reply yet from the old dear.
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Might well be sold already but I think this model is about 45-50 K in the shops.

Guy wants 30K for it. Good camera for the price I would say. And if he ain't sold it by now he'll probably drop the price a bit more.

That's exactly the type of thing I'm looking for - I'll take a look if it's still available when I'm back in Bangers, that is if I have the cash by then.

I might call him and say "If it's so good then how come you want shot of it?"

Anyway, that's 3 greens I owe you now Maddie.

I would not touch it Scampy,

1st Sony hard disk camcorder=old tech also meaning the HDD has been used for a year ... any body's guess how much life the same still has.

Furthermore no 3ccd, no windscreen filter for microphone plus a lot more 'no other' shite. Over priced as usual Sony, proprietary s/w ...

Cnet editors review gave it an 8.0 out of 10 (Sony is a major Cnet sponsor, ergo caveat emptor!)

Read users reviews (they gave it a 6.6 rating) linky:
Sony Handycam HDR-SR1 Ratings. Digital Camcorders User Opinions.

Knowing you are a Mac user
the following this user review jumped out:

"Not ready for prime time & MAC USERS NEED NOT APPLY."

get your dick out of the sand & go read Scampy!

Yep he has a got a Mac, that camera unusable with it? I noticed something along these lines with it before actually, complaints about the format and what not. I think they may have solved that problem with the latest HDD camcorders since then.

Sorry Scamp, perhaps a bad reco from me, take away an owed green.

You gotta read these reviews it's true.

also one more thing about camcorders

the high-definition that is mouthed all over the place nowadays is referred to something that will be viewed on a high-definition television. The Shite you shoot for youtube, any fucking camcorder will do
