What kind of snake is this?

Does anyone have any idea what kind of snake this is? Number 1 son bought it online and the wife is absolutely pooping herself.
It's basically comatose, hasn't moved in 3 days but doesn't seem to be dead.
May have something to do with the fact that the weather's hovering around 12-13 degrees the last week or two.
It's about 18 inches long.

It's a climbing snake. Give it some branches or vines to climb on and it might perk up - although it could very well be the cold. Put a directional lamp above its house to warm things up a bit.

A 'corn snake'. A google search throws up a lot of information and pictures (also called a 'rat' snake) but none of the pictures of corn snakes have stripes and the one he bought was red and white stripes about 8 inches long.
He's happy because this looks more like a snake than the one he ordered. (according to him). Just thought we might have had a herpetologist on board.

Dunno anything about snakes, but the colours look wrong to me. The white marking on the brindle are very distinct, while the snake in OP looks more brown and black?

Maybe an Asian King Snake? Found in eastern China?? Is Cujo in China?

Bit hard to see the markings and coloring clearly and in detail on Cujo's picture.

Corn snakes do indeed have a variety of markings.

And tend to "They are known to hibernate during winters when living in colder regions, but are known to only brumate (hide in crevices on cold days and soak up the sun on warmer days in order to regulate their temperatures) in more temperate climates."
