He mentioned in his last column that next weeks will be the last. I know he's said that before but seems more certain this time

More and more Thai centered sites seem to be closing, maybe it's me

He had a good run and I liked his stuff 15 years ago.

All things come to an end.

Never read him, though just read the link I'd say he'll be back.

Sounds like hes branching out on his own because the owner of his site he sold is not paying for that tosh he puts out from NZ.

Should get the old Punty on there

and it wont be long before the old teak door creaks shut for the last time.

Stick dropped me an email over the weekend to say that he definitely won't be updating the website after next week.

So TD will be the 'exclusive' publisher for my life saga 'A Crazy Life' (next chapter in progress...)

Maybe, dunno...just the sense I get and from talking with Farang and Thai alike. Were you around 30 years ago? I sure wasnt...anyways, a big part of it I think is the economy is really not good, and this has affected me somewhat but I know a lot of Thai small biz's are not doing that great.

Ofcourse the political situation and the other things that must not be spoken about are not well.

Yup... circa 30 years ago Chatchai's government was setting new records for corruption, Bangkok was in imminent danger of sinking, a mass transport system for Bkk would never get built because Thais were too half arsed...and old hands were finding they were partying less.

I'll really miss Stick's 1995-look website.

I think the last time I read it was in the 1990s and looking at it now, it's impressive that both its awful design and its shit content has been maintained with such diligence.

I think he realised he was onto a winner when he discovered the potency of gossip as a means of piquing interest. Once folk became familiar with the territory and its main mongers, they were hooked.

He also claimed that every Thai date will put out on the first night.

Maybe for him after he's barfined them
