Your data is incredible Poolie! 34%, 46% and 92% now how much does it make in total? Where's me calculator?
*madly running here and there to grap a calcu*
I know what you are saying Dr A but I think in fairness that when people say bargirl, they mean prostitute.Quote:

So a bloke that has shagged bargirls can also not be trusted....or is it just the women (I mean the blokes are actually paying FOR it, the women get paid to DO it) ;)
well CMN, the bar I go to, which I am sure you know, has lots of girls working there, pulling pints and making cocktails etc. All are bargirls, but only some will go for money.
So, as in most English, it is best to use the correct terminology. If the ones who go with men for cash are called bargirls, the others can be called...bar tenders, you suggest hmmm
I would say Bargirls is the correct term for girls that work in bars, whilst prostitutes/whores may be better if they indulge in other work. Although once again, those words are pejorative and unkind.
Bloody hell
I'm afraid that where thailand is concerned, the word bargirl has already been bastardised, too late to get rid of the connotations now.
yeah, you are probably right
so if someone says bargirl, I have to find out where they are from, whom they are referring to and what the topic of conversation is
easy really
Actually I think you'll find that most bar girls that shag for money would be horrified to be compared to a whore/prossie...they think of them as different things ;)
Although it's not hard and fast, bargirls go with customers and service girls provide drinks etc. ( should be the otter way round I'd have thought!)Quote:

The Isaan culture is a vastly different culture than ours in the west.
Sure, we immediately think of sending money home for mom to gamble and dad to piss away, but there are many other facets that don't auger well for a long term relationship
So using my new-found penchance for providing accurate statistics I've researched and found that a staggering 79% of farang serving bargirls/whores come from the Isaan provinces.
I can now safely conclude that the difficulties previously mentioned regarding marrying a bargirl can now be extended to marrying a girl from Isaan!
Perhaps I missed your point, but I think it is mutual. E.g my maid is not very well educated, comes from Khon Kaen, and I am pretty sure she would not even consider working in a bar, despite having the chance to earn several times more than I am paying her.Quote:

I am sure your house mate is a "good girl" (I know a few women like her myself), but simply by working with prostitutes, she has places herself lower on the social scale than shop assistants, street sweepers, market vendors, etc. It may be a good chance for her to practice English and perhaps one day meet & marry a farang who will take good care of her, so it may not be a bad choice of work - it is just that at the same time for most Thais (and apparently quite a few farangs) she will be "off-limits" just because of the workplace.
My own, independant straw poll has the figure at around 87% in Chiang Mai, with a minority, 12% from CM, ChiangRai and Mae Hong Song and bizzarly 1% from Phukett.Quote:

Yes AO. I know it's difficult for you to understand. When my friend told me, I confused too but it's really funny the way he spoke.Quote:

But, in the past I've always tried to make a case of support for those who do marry BGs based on many, many, many, many years of experience observing those who married LBFMs from the Philippines. So many marriages worked for those fellas. Hell, at one time over 10,000 BG's from Olongapo and Angeles City were getting married to servicemembers annually.
Sure SK, no-one has yet said if they have or would
pity really, I think it is interesting even if you are jaded on it
That shouldn't surprise you, really. Even in the case of all those fellas who married the LMFMs out of the Philippines I never met one who didn't say he met his wife at the tailor shop, or she was a maid, or she worked on the base, or she was a student or she worked at the money exchange ...Quote:

I mean would you pop down the local knocking shop in your British scum city and look for marriage material amongst the skanks working there?
Ridiculous behaviour. Doomed to fakking failure and not pleasnt, amicable failure either.
Ever hear of that guy named Jesse James who builds $ 100,000 choppers ? He was married to a porn actres for several years. Now the tattooed bugger is married to Sandra Bullock.
As I have said I don't believe in marriage but my next relationship will be with a whore. I don't have trouble getting women it's getting rid of them that's difficult!Quote:
