Will it go up? Had three claims last year and insurance premium actually went down this year.Originally Posted by Dillinger

Insurance here is a bit different.
Mate took out a few bystanders on his new motorbike. Coppers and everyone else's eyes lit up. Had first class insurance but no driving license.
Insurance got on the scene and covered his ass completely. Decent bail bond (a few hundred K) so the coppers didn't even bother once that came out from the insurance guy. All the fake claims were dropped and the insurance covered all the damage that was done.
All for a guy with no driving license.

The second pic didnt really need the pink outliner did it?
Dill, what a misleading title. Thought the wife got frustrated with you and hit you with a frying pan, then took off and ran. My mind must be playing tricks on me.
^^^ A Thai pointing would have been better.
Mate, if that black is from a tyre, simply get a rubber/erazer and take the physicial mark off.
Then grab a little polish, a stocking and a sponge. Put the sponge in the foot of the stocking, apply some polish and rub every so gently.
Polish off with a soft cloth.*
My feeling is most of the marks will diminish. Also, the damage is below the door handle line ... almost no-one looks that low on a car.
You will see it ... but others won't.
Wait till she has a decent bingle to that door ... then get it fixed.

Brasso is a good cheap cutting paste.
Depends on what the paint finish is.
If it's just an acrylic colour ... maybe go for it.
But if it's metallic paint (or even some of the colour coats) with a clear varnish as the top coat, which many/most cars are nowadays ... then Brasso is not that answer.
BTW, I'm not a spray Painter, but my mate is and have spent a bit of time in his shop.

she did quite well actually, probably not worth fixing-it's not gonna rust
Wait to see on youtube tomorrow maybe have news...

Dill that damage is minimal, probably looking at a bit of panel beating and a respray of the door skin. Ballpark 5 or 6k Baht if you keep your white face out of the negotiations .
My Missus had similar damage to the near side rear guard in her car years ago after a hit and run in some supermarket car park, and she was the one who did the hitting and running!. So no worries, the car's insured just get it fixed. "Cannot use insurance!, they will want police report" I'm informed. So off to a local body shop we go where she feels it necessary to inform Somchai the estimator that someone hit her car while she was shopping .
Anyway, 5200 Baht and 4 days later any evidence was gone.
Dil if you have top cover keep the cash & let ghe insurance guy do there job.
I have been driving for 13 years no claim the last year 5 claims
No change in cost of insurance but did change the car as blue is not a good colour.
