Reading this article, I wonder if we might say a down turn in the strength of the BahtShippers fear deeper slump for exports | Bangkok Post: business

I would think that the down turn in the baht would not be good for import & not exports.

You think quite correct I agree, but the article is on exports ,for instance Vietnam has devalued the dong 3 times this year making their rice exports 45 dollars a tonne cheaper than Thai rice ,its just a thought and of course I stand to be corrected unreservedly

That's what he indicated last night , there's 4 Aussie pensioners living in my area who's outlook on Australia's economic future could only be viewed as Pessimistic , luckily they all seem to be able to manage here in Thailand OK and still go out for a few Chang beers.

At the end of the day that's exactly what it boils down to.

If An Aussie can not afford to live in Thailand because our Exchange rate has shit it's self what chance would he have surviving back in Australia ?

I was here when it was 18 Baht to the AUD so I have a bit of slack to go yet .

Whatever it goes to is irrelevant, can still have a decent time if the belt needs tightening.

Wrong and wrong on both accounts Jan my wife is in sole charge of selling our Lemons and Mango's and keeps every single baht for pocket money ,it actually costs me money cost I buy the two fertilizers which ensures we have a bumber crop of both ,in regards to the Aussie Dollar, yeah I remember it being a lot less than it is today ,and as stated previously I know for a fact that my Aussie mates here on their pensions could hardly be called on the bread line , like they would if they lived in Ozz.
