....and all a bit moot, really.
The official rate can never be gathered and certainly differs from bank to bank or exchange venue situation - anywhere from a full point to 2.1 below said exchange.


If anything, the standard rate of exchange is a guideline, if not a false one.

That dollar spread does look tight. Can't see getting a much better rate than that.

That rate at Kasikorn is flat out extortion.

I use SCB to cash in my dollars and the rate is better than Bankok Bank. They all take a commission and they vary. The branches of the same bank may even vary, so worth looking around who has the best exchange rate.

Better than that superrich rate though? That's the tighest buy/sell spread I've ever (virtually) seen in LOS

I cashed in more US dollars today since I am not sure which direction the baht vs dollar will go. I have held back another chunk of dollars just in case the baht takes a dive. It has been awhile since I have seen the US dollar worth more than 37 baht.

The OZ dollar is going to get a lot lower..I changed some the other day and got 26.9, not so long ago it was around 32-33..

Why is that?

I, after reading my post should of said a bit lower, not a lot, my apologies..
Just been watching it, awhile ago it went down to 25.4, the stayed around 26.4 to 26.9..

I agree, superrich always has the best rates and will sharpen the pencil if you exchange a large amount.

Tempus fugit my friend - last time AUD was at 32 was mid 2012.

U.S. dollar looking pretty solid these days. My first trip to LOS the dollar was getting around 41 or so baht. That was about 12 years ago. Fun to think about something like that happening again...

The baht should weaken soon.
