It's what the Thai teachers in my school use. I do believe AO has referred to his daughters in the same manner. As Norton said, its probably about the context/tone of how the adjective is used rather than the words themselves.

It's nothing to do with the tone. It's just that they (Thais) aren't using the term to be derogatory. It doesn't carry the negativity that half-breed or half-caste does in English or western (English speaking) countries. In fact it doesn't mention race at all.

I think he is just an idiot who thinks he knows best but we all know he does not.

He befriends a few Thais who tell him they know everything but at the end of the day (and with the multi-coloured Thai laws) they know what an officer want's to tell them on the day.

Whenever a Thai comments that my children are half thai or half farang i'm quick to correct them on the correct term which in English is Euroasian and Thai Luk Krueng.

If a westerner called them anything other than their names it would be lights out, providing there where no witness's.

I don't know of anyone with big enough balls to walk up to any parent and call their child a half-breed to their face.

Here is a challenge to you Tod. Video yourself calling a child a half-breed in front of a sample of 5 male parents around town and post your findings.
