    It's the law here !!

What is 13th Month Pay in the Philippines?

13th month pay in the Philippines is a statutory annual employee benefit that every employer is bound by Filipino law to provide to their full-time rank-and-file employees, in addition to their yearly salaries.

This benefit was legalized in 1975 by Presidential Decree No. 851 to support Filipinos and Filipino families through the Christmas period. Although the original legislation has undergone several amendments since it was first implemented, the fundamental framework of the law has remained the same.

Private sector employees covered by the 13th month pay in the Philippines benefit receive additional annual compensation on top of their annual salary. Every employee under the jurisdiction of Filipino law is entitled to it. This law provides an extra layer of safety net to all private-sector employees during the holiday season.

I was referring to all PC Nonsense in general. There are now so many things you can no longer say or refer to as it might hurt people's wittle feelings and they cry and feel left out.

Some here might consider a different employer or a different profession.

Standard practice for one company I help manage......

Everyone gets 2 weeks’ pay (and a week off during the holiday season) IF you have been working for more than one full year

Manager gets a bonus on each calf sold

I deposit a good sum of money (529) to both kids of the manager. The kids should have the bulk they need to pay for their college education as long as they go to an in-state college.

Extra this year. Guys will split one steer. He’s on a mineral/feed diet now as opposed to improved pasture.

    Rewarding good help

MrsP not expecting the usual gold or baht this year, elections, uncertain change of government means the company's contracts have dried up, hundreds of millions of roading machinery sitting idle with only minor works in progress.
Keeping some staff occupied wherever possible, building more onsite staff accommodation plus a gym, hoping it picks up in 2024.

The company I currently work for was privately held when I joined so bonuses were pretty straight forward. We then merged with a huge Company and albeit the first 2 years since merger were pretty fat bonus wise, now we are under the corporate umbrella and they are based on profitability etc. The nice thing is all based on % of your annual salary so the bonuses are usually quite nice

In the mining game when it became apparent to.mining companies that if they were going to force safety initiatives ( real or fantasy ones)down everyone's throat 24/7 then it would only work if safety was tied to production and if nothing went wrong you got a bonus which was nice but they sure made you jump through hoops and listen to insufferable twats to achieve it.That was in Australia though. In Lao they had to set a lower benchmark to achieve any sort of bonus, if none got killed or maimed that quarter that was a good quarter

An old footie mate of mine was doing shift work in the Tic Tac factory. Fairly precise chemical timing and temperature are required, apparently. One new boy fudged up one batch and got the heave-ho over it. Apparently each batch costs approx 150k euro.

I joked that sitting inside the machine was one, giant, orange Tic Tac.

In a quarry it’s more about life and limbs.

No, not at all. But, just suggesting that others look for a different employer that will treat them right. Maybe speak to some employees who have been working at the company for a while and learn how they have been treated before accepting the position.

So Mao....why don't you shed some light on what your career was like and your bonuses. I mean you seem to have this key insight. We saw the pics with you on a TZM in a basic TEFLr get up. Please do share.

I feel fairly confident in saying his run is over. His schtick has gotten really old and is seen through with ease. At least he has stopped the exercise BS. Why he very well may win one of the ongoing popularity contests.
