War of the Worlds has arrived

Whilst up in the air-con half an hour ago the missus shouts at me to come down into the garden. In a scene reminiscent of War of the Worlds, people were staring up into the sky and pointing.

There were low wispy clouds and the sun had an outer "rainbow".

I've never seen this phenomenon before.

Yea, that is the kind of air pollution that causes you to become sterile and incontinent a few days after it is observed.
Damn glad we haven't had any of it up here yet,, maybe time to leave Thailand..

Ya, saw it once on Samui maybe four-five years ago. Looked like a translucent UFO descening except it took up most of the sky. Really freaky.

If you see it round the moon it's supposed to be the sign of a storm comming.

Caused by ice crystals in the troposphere. Called a "Solar Halo".

Those are views of Fribourg city @ 8 o'clock morning... This cloud crossed Switzerland from West to east, at 9h30 it reached Zuerich, 160 km away...
