If all else fails read the Instructions.

But I can't can I, its all in fookin Thai.

I buy a new 50" Telli, Instructions in Thai.

I buy a new Garmin GPS, instructions in Thai.

I buy a new sound system, instructions in Thai.

I buy a new washing machine, instructions in Thai. Need to wash my fookin clothes today.

Back in Australia when one buys shit the instructions come in 55 different fookin languages including inner Mongolian.

Here in Thailand its only fookin Thai.

    Anyway, just havin a bitch.

    All good fun innit.

Download an english version of the manual

Anyway real men do not need to RTFM - a fierce eyeballing is normally all that is required to get it to do as it is told

So, you are sitting there, unable to watch TV, unable to drive anywhere , unable to listen to music and unable to wash your clothes .

Increase the entertainment value by putting them through google translate.

I have a similar problem in Germany; instructions in 1000 different languages, none of which is English. Stops the Brits buying stuff cheaper abroad I suppose...

TBH Thai lingo aint the only problem with instructions ,, the last couple of electric items I have bought in the UK ( from China ) come with NO words in the instruction manual , only cartoon pictures

It can be frustrating when you are buying stuff but cannot speak the local lingo - have the same problem here in Korea, but that's just the fun of 'living' in a foreign country.

Get yeeself down to silom soi 4, Tezza and pick yeeself up and longhaired dictionary (he will also do the cooking and cleaning for you)...

Reading a manual is really only a last desperate resort.

IMO it is always like once you know how the equipment works you may be able to start understanding the manual.

^ I don't read the manual until I've exhausted all other options, although through my past experience of failures I've learned to make sure the unit is plugged in.

I just recently bought a Samsung washing machine. Never once have I looked at the manual.
    1.Plug it in.
    2.Fill with water.
    3.Put in clothes and powder.
    4.Turn dial for time.
    5. Drain water.
    Repeat steps 2,4,5 for rinsing.
Remove load and put in spin dryer and turn dial for time.

So simple even an idiot like me can do it. Not exactly rocket surgery is it?

Some aren't quite that independent or logical as it applies to simple everyday things.

Requiring explanation or having Mommy do it.

Just plug them in and turn them on, perhaps not all at the same time. You may blow a fuse and then have to find the fuse box for the whole building.

Even i can plug a telly in. And most washing machines have little piccies on them and arrows.

    Yes OK,

It is not rocket science but a washing machine these days has 3 thousand different settings and I do like to know what the fook is going on.

Hand bag will be back in a few weeks I'll ask her.

In the mean time I'll just throw all my dirty shit in the shitter.

New clothes are cheap in Bangkok.
