Today the local govt head was supposed to come today, and give a talk with all the local govt agencies at 9 am.

Looking around and seeing some persons lingering about, not with any group in particular, and being told they have nothing to do with govt agencies, i came to conclusion under cover military?cops.

We live in a staunch Red Shirt area.

Well after about 1 hr and no show of local govt head, locals started saying such things same old shit, just make us wait all day, as we live just across from were meeting was supposed to held, have seen a steady stream of locals leaving and just been informed, there is just a handful left of locals though all govt agencies still waiting around.

They just gained less respect up here

Word has gone around the village that the soldiers are coming to check on the wood that people have on their properties. Anyone who can't explain where they got it from will be arrested.

So that leads me into another topic regards the Army actually getting serious down in Phuket and rounding up many of the Tuk Tuk and Mafia Taxi driver scum.

Maybe. This is a positive with the Taxis etc. Thai guy who works for me was saying that here in pattaya the baht bus mafia are all headed by top cops (apparently) hence them being untouchable. Sorting this and the taxis out would be a huge boost. Can not be good for tourism and business when everyone from farang land leaves having been ripped off by of of these blighters.
