    Million Quid Thai Prossie...

Married bank worker stole £2m then spent the lot on call girls: £1m went on ONE Thai escort

John Skermer set up fake bank accounts with overdrafts of £1m
The 45-year-old then siphoned cash into his personal account
The computer geek spent months wining and dining a escort girl
All the while Skermer's wife was in the dark about his infidelity

Fair play to her, but what an idiot this bloke was.

He'll probably get four years, serve 18 months and never have to pay a penny back.

I'd serve 18 months in a soft open prison for 2 million quid.

Understandable. Early morning taxi fares are outrageous high in UK.

Seems more like he did when all is said and done and maybe that's why he paid so much? Silence is expensive in cases like this..

    Sounds about right.
One of our customer lost 20 mill to us way back and turned out he was a bank manager who knocked it off,
    Out in about 3 years.

Piece of piss to do really as long as you can get your hands on the computer. Creating money with a press of a key - very simple. I bet this is very very common and only occasionally gets out.

That is interesting. Stolen goods have to be returned to the original owner if they can be traced. How about stolen cash?

If $100 of stolen cash was paid electronically into a bank account already containing $100 legal funds and then from that account $100 was paid each to 2 separate 3rd parties from that account then do those 2 3rd parties have $50 of stolen funds each?

How the fuck do they know he paid her a million quid............................................. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, she must have written receipts after every act.

The press as normal targeting a Thai woman when she has some involvement along with scores of others.

It turned into a QC fairytale of litigation.
Selling something for stolen cash (as long as you could demonstrate you lacked knowledge) is not the same as receiving stolen goods.
If you mug someone and then use the proceeds to buy a slap up meal, has the restaurant done anything wrong?

It dragged on for years with neither us nor commbank quite ready to force the issue, but them having QC's on tap was the final difference. The company was running up 3 mill in bills just filing and defending motions, settled for 7 mill, it was that or be litigated into the ground.

No-one really knows what would have happened if it got in front of a judge.

I'm guessing that she just got paid her rates, plus gifts, but added to this, is the hotels, dinners etc which if he was, as they say, were the finest hotels it would be relatively easy to piss away 1m in a year.

She was based in London and he had a relationship with her for much of last year. The former waitress apparently turned to escorting seven years ago after she split from her husband Ryan Osborne, 38, from Barnsley.
She's not bad for a 40 yr old though. Its funny how the Mail thought it was a good idea to drag her ex husband into the mix. I wonder what his nickname is on ThaiVisa?

Good to see those taxpayer banking subsidies aren't being wasted.
