What are you drinking today?

So last night I was messing around to come up with a descent Marg mix. The crap they try and pass off here is just terrible. Anyway found that thai limes are far stronger then US limes so after making the juice they need a bit of watering down and then add a bit of cane syrup and chill. Was pretty damn good. Even my wife said "Good Job". I usually sip Neat but sometimes a good ol Marg hits the spot.

Gotta love the Thai liquor import selection. They import some top shelf Tequila. Names I couldn't even find on the internet that's how good it is. Some silver stuff. It was called something like MaMa's Tequila and had a sombrero on the label... in Cabo it would sell for 50 cents a bottle, here almost $20. :)

i have a friend who makes great whiskey sours, he adds maple syrup. He should be down next week with a 3 litre JD swing and a shaker. I'll get you the recipe

Should the question also include the quantity?

2 cans into a 12 pack of 330ml San Mig Lite. Removing me socks I can calculate 3960ml or the bones of 4 liters. Reckon I'll be posting shite come 2am. So no real change from normal. :)

Any chance of a pic of the view? I think you're condo's along the river down by Saphan Taksin? High enough to be above the mosquito zone I presume. :) Must be a lovely view along the river and across to Thonburi. Would be nice to see. I doubt there's many stalkers with the capability to do harm on here. :)

I drink a little red wine, keep the old ticker in good shape.

I bought this bottle of French Cabernet Sauvignon today at the supermarket in Naypyidaw (Myanmar). 9,900 MMK ==> 252 Thai baht.

Got it home, peeled off the seal and fcuk... it has a cork.

I have no cork screw. The only practical way to drink the wine is to push the cork into the bottle.

So I look in my room for something suitable to push the cork in with, and settled on the metal end of my umbrella, perfect!

I put the bottle on the floor, clamped between my feet in case it suddenly moves, place the umbrella tip on the top of the cork and PUSH.

Unfortunately, the cork slid rapidly into the bottle with such force that about 20% of the red wine sprayed all around the room, covering white sheets, my clean clothes, laptop etc.

Fcuk, fcuk, fcuk!!! Run around, cleaning everything up, and then have to do the trick of pushing the cork down into the bottle with a fork so that I can pour out the wine into a glass. More wine all over the place.

Finally got my act together. The wine is mediocre at best.....

Corkscrew added to my shopping list, (I'll be damn lucky if I can buy a corkscrew in Naypyidaw).

You can push the cork in with your finger/thumb. Done that a few times without losing a drop.

It was only this morning that I realised that the red wine explosion of the night before included a very generous splashing all across the nearby wall, up to the ceiling, akin to the fountain of blood that might occur when shooting someone in the head.

For some reason, the Cabernet Sauvignon spatters on the white wall have turned a lurid blue colour.

I think I'll have to pay for the hotel room to be redecorated - at some time in the distant future when I check out.

^ This story reminds of when my old man dabbled in the "home brew" kits you could buy in Boots the Chemist. All was well until the pipework got blocked up, (a stone from one of the fruits) jammed, and the pressure built up. We came down one morning to find the wall and ceiling splattered with this damson coloured paint job. Out came the paint brushes!!!

I just watched that shoe video. Amazing!

In the 10 videos, I didn't spot anyone trying to remove the cork using the tip of a brolly, presumably because losing 25% of the wine all across the room is not acceptable.
